| Platinum Member | @shanky, Are the disconnections during any time or during the nights only? BSNL does not implement any "back door methods" so that you get continuous/frequent disconnections. Have a look at this article: SNR Margin and Line Attenuation - What do they mean? |

Rep Power: 1 | The problem may be because of a virus called Z-connect which is spreading through USB drives. Just go to "My network connections" page on your PC and delete the virus z-connect. Everytime z-connect comes up, it disconnects the internet. So better make z-connect ur default connection by entering bsnl acocunt details in that. Then, your internet will be continuous.... |

Rep Power: 0 | Even i have the same problem, but i don't think the problem is hardware-related(splitter or phone line or .. ). Here are the things i've done: I'm using WA3002-G4.First i connected using PPPOE.I was able to connect immediately, but after sometime my net used to disconnect and re-connect (similar to the problem that everyone is facing). So what i did was i changed from PPPOE to Bridge mode(Dialer Mode). When i did that ,then i started to face a different problem. I started getting "Limited or no connectivity" error and it used to take a long time for the net to connect.I have to switch off and on my modem several times. But once it gets connected then then no problem, it will not get disconnected and i can even download torrents at very high speeds. So i followed the solution given here w ww.indiabroadband.net/broadband-how/17039-how-repair-limited-no-connectivity.html. That solution was able to remove the "Limited or no Connectivity" error, but now the old problem is back.It has again started to disconnect and reconnect. Another thing i noticed when i put it in Bridge mode(Dialer mode),my NOD32 Internet Security suite(av,firewall,anti-spyware) took a longer time to load. So what i've understood is ,the problem is not hardware related but software related.Correct me if i'm wrong?! Any solutions! Last edited by abe171; 09-01-09 at 06:25 PM. |

Rep Power: 10 | I recently changed to Netgear ADSL wireless router. Earlier I was using MT 841 (Type III) modem. When I was using MT 841 modem, even though the line was free from noise, disturbance.I used to have this frequent disconnection problem very often. But now after I have changed to Netgear ADSL wireless router, I am not having any frequent disconnection issues. I have been observing this for 5~6 days. There's no frequent disconnection at all. Not sure if this is because of the change in the router. But iam really happy with the outcome. |

Rep Power: 10 | I checked with my old router & it was having the disconnection problem. I guess the modem was a faulty one. I really regret for not changing the modem for such a long time. |
