    Default SmartAx Mt882 frequent disconnections.

I too have the same problem.
When ever power fails or there is a power surge, the modem disconnects.
    see this.

I have to click the "NOTE" icon to reconnect.
I use "Always On" mode for both Airtel and Bsnl.
Whenever i switch ISP's after selecting in WAN page, again i have to click the Note Icon.

Adsl splitter connects BB connection directly to modem.
If Phone is OK , and you don't hear a "Hiss " sound in the phone, assumed ADSL connections are OK.

Ensure you use additional ADSL splitter for each
extension phone in different rooms. ( if they are
connected directly to BSNL phone port )

My SNR and Attenuation are :-
    Code:
                                    Downstream Upstream
    SNR Margin (dB): 6.3 17.4
    Attenuation (dB): 40.5 22.7
    Output Power (dBm): 12.3 19.1
    Attainable Rate (Kbps): 4326 1138
    Rate (Kbps): 2799 765
I hear a great "hiss" sound in my phone when modem is connected and there is no "hiss" sound when modem is not connected.
    Is those figures OK...

Please mention Modem model. presume MT882.

ADSL splitter as supplied by BSNL.
Phone Port / Modem Port / Line Port
If the Telephone Instrument Rj11 is connected to LINE,
and PHONE RJ11 to BSNL Wall Phone Junction,
    this "HISS"
may be heard ( BB data signals ), when BB connected.

Also in Parallel telephones ( from different BSNL phone ports) without additional ADSl splitter..

Please disconnect all phones and check SNR/ATTN
preferably with present Mod selected .
    .
You line contacts can be corroded/blackened/oxidized/have high resistance contacts for the high attenuation. Try new short rj11 cables with new connectors.
( of course, last but not least is BSNL line to your house! )

    My modem is UT300R2U.

Due to some repairing works in my home i had opened the splitter two day earlier, I had only opened the BLACK wires in it... then re joined them after the repair works.

Did i done anything wrong at the time of re-joining?
Will it be a problem if i join Left side wires to Right and vice-versa?
Will it be a problem if the wires were joined a little bit loose?
    Thanks.

    @brodbnd,

    a) Does your internet get disconnected when you received an incoming landline call or when you make one?
    b) Do you get a hissing sound on the telephone while modem is switched on?
    c) Does you SNR fluctuate many times?

If the answer to any of your questions is "YES", then check whether the splitter is connected at the first entry point of the telephone line. There should be no parallel telephone lines before the splitter.

The splitter must separate the voice and data circuit and data line should be connected to the modem. All telephones including parallel lines should be connected to the voice port of the splitter.

If whatever said above is correct, and still there are problems, then splitter could be (note the underline) faulty. A splitter is very cheap and is available at most electrical stores for less than Rs. 40.

What you have shown in the picture,
    is a very ordinary
    two way telephone splitter.
phones are connected in parallel. to main line.

This Splitter to be added to the PHONE port
of the ADSL splitter supplied by BSNL.

hai freq disconnection only at one time is may be because of high useage at that time see that if the problem is through out the day . another problem may be connection problem from exg to your modem.

This is my second home 500+ connection in a different state, I am using the same modem that I used for my previous connection. I had some problems with the speed and some noise in my land phone with my second connection, so I opened the wall mounted box from where my landline was connected , stripped the wire properly and reconnected it and I never had a problem again. No disconnection. My night connectivity shows max of 2-3 disconnections (even no disconnections 90% of time within the 6 golden hours). Only one auto-connection from IE or IDM at logon and the connection lasts through out the free night time till shutdown.

    Thumbs down Routine Disconnection

For last 3 days my internet gets disconnected around 5 am. ADSL Light goes off and glows again after 2 mins. But I'm not able to reconnect again . I am in bridged mode and when I try to connect after that it shows Connecting to Wan Miniport PPPoE. But strangely I have seen that if I power off the modem and power on it again then I am able to get connected.

    Strange problem. Never happened before.

Is my Modem faulty or it is a BSNL fault ?

You may have to click the "NOTE" icon if seen ,
or even if green button is "ON" .

At same time means, did you check any other service is stopping your connectivity?

"Connecting to Wan Miniport PPPoE" Do you see this in your dialup computer?

Default Disconnects every few minutes, please help

    Hello,

I have a BSNL UL750 for the last 2+ years and have a new problem of disconnection from every few minutes to an hour. BSNL guys have changed the modem, the line is said to have been cleared, changed the splitter, replaced internal cables with shorter cables and the port has been changed too. I have changed to GDMT mode as well.
I am in PPPOE mode and the modem now is a Quidway WA1003A. I am about 3-3.5 km from the exchange and have a good 256kbps when the line is connected.

Ping to yahoo returns a 'Request timed out' or 'Destination network unreachable' just before the DSL light goes off; the light comes back in a few seconds and gets a new IP.

I find a 'PPPD Terminated Through Signal' or 'Modem hangup' in the log as below. Please help!

    Pasting some statistics:

I notice the US DS come to as low as 8 and 12
Is this the same as SNR?

I also had these frequent disconnection issues a few weeks back. When i looked modem status then, it had very strange DSL syncing speeds

    Us Rate (Kbps) 864
    Ds Rate (Kbps) 11000

some thing like this. My DS Margin was always hopping around 1-8. And I also noticed that i was never able to connect in ADSL2Plus mode. Now since a couple of weeks everything changed, now i have

    Us Rate (Kbps) 512
    Ds Rate (Kbps) 2048

I think these figures make sence. Upload max speed : 512 Kbps and Download max speed 2 mbps. DS Margin have a healthy 10-25 range. I think BSNL might have been testing with something IPTV ??, as it needs higher transmission rates ?

But anyhow your DS Line Attenuation : 39 is pretty high. I guess there is definitely some problem in the line.

Default Asymmetric MTU for ppp0 1500
In WAn or LAN settings page change to 1492.
if no improvement try lower numbers upto 1400.
    Feedback please.

strange , inspite of all that , your SNR is still 8 which is pretty low. that could well be your problem
