in your modem status/overview tab etc. look for values SNR & Line Attn.SNR values must be above 10 & usually there values are ~15(upstream/remote) & ~29(downstream/local).more values of SNR the better.similarly Line Attn values are usually ~15(upstream/remote) & ~28(downstream/local).lesser Line Attn values the better.

go to control panel->Network connections->right click on Local Area Connection 2 and click on properties. then go to tcp/ip properties . then enter ip address manually as 192.168.1.10 .. enter gateway as 192.168.1.1 .. then close all windows.. now you should be able to access 192.168.1.1

it's OK.just for some added info your line mode is ADSL2+ but BSNL provided modems are set with G.dmt but if it is working fine then no problem.if in future some problem occur try changing mode to G.dmt

try switching to open DNS servers which are

    primary DNS: 208.67.220.220
    Secondary DNS: 208.67.222.222

And for the heating issue all BSNL modems get heated up very quickly so its normal there is only one thing you can do you can put your modem in the freezer so it will run cooool

I am also facing the same problem, my internet connection gets disconnected every now and then. It was working fine till last month. My Modem is UT300R2U, what is the problem people? How do i configure it? The Speed has also reduced a lot, i get under 700Kbps nowadays.

looking at you previous post with the ipconfig dump you are using a bridged connection(you are dialing up a connection), with this you cannot connect to router config screen. To connect to router you need to use the nat mode, or PPPoE(always on connection). if you want that mode just tell bsnl you want always on connection they will change the connection type for u.

who told you this?i am using bridge mode & can connect to modem/router configuration page fine.this does not depend on which mode you use.
