Default Broadband disconnects every 5 -10 minutes when using utorrent!!

Hey guys, I'm currently on the 500 plan from bsnl. The problem is, whenever I'm using utorrent for downloading, broadband disconnects (link to broadband failed, it says) every 5 -10 minutes, sometimes even after 3 min. When I redial it connects again. However, while normal browsing it doesn't do so. I checked this out and even after 4 hours browsing it didnt disconnect a a single time. Can you plz help me out with what this problem is????

My modem is SmartAX MT841. Port forwarded on utorrent is 55325 ( though i know it doesn't make a diff). Also I use dialler to connect.

Plz guys, help me out, this makes downloading during night an impossiblity, since the torrents gets disconnected from the seeds after every 5 min.

    Thanx.

This can be occurring due the high bandwidth usage, this is a problem with BSNL please restrict your download to 200 kBps and download. Then check if it disconnects. Limit both Upload and Download at 200 kBps even though your bandwidth is 256 kBps.

    Please update after doing this

Thanx for the suggestions but the problem is not going. And its not just torrents but whenever I download anything big (movies etc) the connection disconnects every 5 minutes. But nothing during simple browsing.

Someone suggested posting snr values, they are---->

    Internet Connection

    DSL Status true
    Last Failed 0x00000048
    Downstream Data Rate 243600
    Upstream Data Rate 507000
    SNR (Downstream) 6.0 dB
    SNR (Upstream) 13.5 dB
    Line Attentuation(Downstream) 31.5 dB
    Line Attentuation(Upstream) 82.5 dB
    Connected Standard ADSL2+

Please help me guys this really sucks, cant download anything during night time

SNR and Attenuation values show that the line is having problem.
Ask your line men to check it properly

Check the wiring method ie.. line from pole to splitter then from splitter ADSL to router and phone to your phone.

Change the Connection Standard to G.Dmt, it is more stable than ADSL 2+

I am using BSNL for past 2 years as a result I had a similar problem with frequent disconnections happenning every now and then. Few tips to get it solved -

    1) check your physical line, it should not have any joints in your service cable which runs from Pole (junction box) to your home.

Are all you modem lights glow when you are disconnected from the internet?

there should be an option under dsl settings(or you can try to look around as i forgot where exactly these settings are). uncheck all other options except G.dmt like ADSL2+ etc.
