I would suggest you to buy Netgear DG834G v4 (wireless). Its the best for users who face frequent disconnections. It costs Rs. 3500 in India. The firmware is open source (GPL licensed). Even you'll get custom firmware developed by DG Team. I bought it mainly because I live very far from the exchange. My BSNL modem used to lose sync more than 6 time an hour, but Netgear DG834G doesn't disconnect at all if I leave it on whole day. There is a useful guide on the internet how to set it up for BSNL connection. You need to select LLC based multiplexing and MTU should be 1454.
