    @broadway
    The user in Kolkatta is smarter than you think.
    He gave his 14 digit portal ID and PW for checking a
    usage application ( viz DataFox!)., on my own request .
    I don't have his logIN userId and PW !!!!

    @deepmohan
    If you know the account number of user's of IP 117.xx.xx.xx
    you can check the usage account. I have two !

    ( mine dataone BB)
    Attachment 5663 from Datafox till this evening.

    I use them strictly in a fair manner to check data for Forum use only.
    14 digit portal Id PW userID pW not required!

    essbebe, i assume you know the bsnl hack where people use IP sniffers and hack into a users modem and steal his password. i have tried that hack and collected around 10 different user pass to see if it worked but IT DIDN'T. all dataone accounts are port-binded.

    so i assume that my friends accounts work for me because were connected to the same exchange. hence it may be right to say that your userass is vulnerable if people from your own exchange get hold of it. what do you think?

    hack into a users modem and steal his password.
    (1) If "Dialer" mode is used neither ID or PW can be accessed.
    ( most users use this method for automatic scheduling during free NU time )

    (2)If "Always On' mode is used ( In wan page available )
    password will appear encrypted. to be deciphered ( possible )

    3. If the modems login Id usually admin PW admin is changed
    regularly no hacking possible.

    4. Telling your friends the User ID /PW is another matter.

    Darn it. Getting Error 691 this morning. Cant connect to the internet. Also getting Cant Connect with remote server error once in a while. And after trying few times the connection gets stuck at "Connecting to WANmini port". Hope no one stole my password. I change it everymonth. My connection is not portbinded. And modem admin password is also not default.

    Its Probably BSNL trying to piss me off >:-( .

    Edit:
    after 2 hours finally got connected..... phew

    If its port binded then no one can use it even from same exchange, except the telephone no. the line on which it has been binded.

    once i got two user id's generated by bsnl for me which was actually the mistake of bsnl only. One is my current Home 500C+ plan and other one was home 250 plan i used both.

    recently i had some problems and bsnl replaced my port and binded it so now i am not able to use the home 250 plan.

    So if port is binded then nothing to worry no one else can use it.
