    Dear Forum Friends,

I am planning to stay at Kerala for my vacation from last week of June till end of July 2009. I would like to know whether I will be able to get a short period broad band connection during my stay.

Look forward to receiving response from forum members.

    Thanks & regards

You can apply for a temporary broadband connection. Make regular follow ups.

Contact your local exchange. Also enquire about roaming. I think data card does not support roaming.

Get a Reliance BB+ USB datacard at the place where u normally stay. it would support full roaming in Kerala at no extra charge.
BSNL datacard does not support roaming outside the STATE.

i think tata photon supports roaming , but for an extra amount..there's also something called as airtel mobile office ( or something like that ) , where you pay 20 bucks per day for internet access , its not that fast , but decent enough for basic web browsing . Incase you want to just catch up with emails and stuff.. this is useful only if you are a person who doesnt travel a lot because if you go with a datacard you would have to pay EVERY MONTH , even if your travelling or not.. with airtel mobile office you just need to pay per day..

Airtel mobile office has been scrapped and its been replaced by a "pay as you use" plan ... which works out to be very costly

Reliance has a much wider coverage compared to TATA ... so free roaming+wider coverage gives you the best mobility

    Default Temperory Broadband internet

    Hi mate,
I will be coming on this 20th November to Thrissur for 6 weeks vacation. Could any of you please suggest me which is the best option to have a broadband at my home for this short period. I prefer to use wireless high speed broadband connection. I can bring wireless modem router along with me.
I have one one USB dongle (TATA indicom) which I used on last vacation in early 2008, which works good, but i am looking for more faster one.
