    Default Night Unlimited..Help

hi.. i m comptr eng. student from gujarat.. recently i have taken home 500c plan..this is my first net connection.. i have a zte zxdsl 831 aii...work in pppoe..always on mode...

    --))
    previouslywhat i was doing -->
start torrents in the uTorrent..then exit it..
i was using AutoPower On and Shutdown..
so i had put a Task to Resume from hibernate at 2.20am..starting uTorrent at 2.40am.....and turning off 7.30 am.....
after that i put the computer in the hibernate and then goto sleep

but that didn't quite worked for me..
every time i see the uTorrent in the morning.. nothing more than some Kb was downloaded..

so once in my exams i used to read at night.. so at that time.. what i saw was all went fine but i couldn't connect to 192.168.1.1...even though all lights were working fine..i was able to connect this before..
i also even unchecked the checkbox in device manager-->network adaptors-->realtek...--> power mangment-->"allow the computer to turn off the device to save power"
nothing happnd.. so..then i turned Off and then turned On the modem manually through the back end switch.. after some time.. all went right and was able to download somewhat 8-9 Gb in those 5-6 days....
but after exams it was all the same..
    -----------
then i came to know that i have to rebbot the modem ..bla bla bla..
so used Imran's...... ya it did rebooted after i found the command "system restart" to reboot my modem.. but in that case also i found in the night that 192.168.1.1 couldn't be connected so that software couldn't even work there.. so again i had to restart the modem manually through on-off switch.. annoying...

    -----------
so through net i found some very interesting things and i have made my own batch file & 1 autohotkey script to reboot modem.. that also worked great in my presence.. so i put that in auto power on and shutdown and restarted it every 1 hr.. but still when i wake up last 3-4 days.. i saw what previously had happened... i was not able to go to 192.168.1.1.. the connection between pc and modem might have gone.. again restart manually... very annoying.. my all hard work had gone..

    ---------
every time i was not able for 192.168.1.1...there was no Internet Connection named icon under network connection also.. so thought it might problem of nic.. so included that also in my bat file.. but it didn't solve the problem..

    ----------

i have put my own sets of batch files and autohotkey script on

Night Unlimited - Reboot Modem - New Easy Method..
    thread

they are not of more importance with regard to my problem but plz see them.. they are very easy scripts for rebooting the modem..

help me how can i maintain connection to 192.168.1.1... i.e. connection between my PC<-->MODEM

is there any thing Lease Time can help..? i m currently using OpenDNS but its still the same..

    help me out..

    and NO IMRAN PLZZZZ

There are two IPs. LAN and WAN. superprash2003 is mentioning LAN IP, which can be changed to static,

Control panel > Network connections > Local area connection > Properties >

TCP/IP > Properties. It is normally like 192.168.1.25 instead of 192.168.1.2.

using a static ip as explained by meetdilip can ensure that your pc has an ip therefore ruling out the possibility of your modem not giving your pc an ip via DHCP

I use brigded connection ... so I simply use rasdial.exe command to connect at 2:05 Am and disconnect at 7:55 am. Then initiate shutdown command.

But Scripting modem restart works for me, but I dont use it at night anyway.

Try with a different modem, may be a modem problem. Or Disable DHCP and enable IP as 192.168.1.2 in the modem.

    PROBLEM
    i can't access to 192.168.1.1 after downloading.........
    Step 1:
    Start RUN type cmd Ok
    new window
    type Ipconfig /all
The default Gateway should show 192.168.x.x
Now type this address admin admin.
Still modem page Log in page does not appear.

    Step 2 :
Assuming you are connected to Internet
    Current IP Check
Now type the Ip address in IE bar.
Does a new window open to access your modem ?

    Step 3 :
    Start Network LAN properties
    Network settings
    select TCP/IP
    enter
    192.168.1.10
    255.255.255.0
    192.168.`1.1.
    DNS
    208.67.220.220
    208 67.222.222
    apply Save.
    Now try.

    Step 4 :
    If not
Reset the modem ( with power on ) for 20 or 30 seconds.
( normally switch in the back )
or see in bottom side , small round hole .
    All settings to factory defaults.
    Restart the modem
    try again to access 192.168.1.1

    Feedback.

PS: check the AVIRA AV free offer for one month.

    @Raval090
    Your PM.
    No need.
    we are all friends here.

    It was my mistake .
I should have read the thread from the beginning.
    and checked
    that
you are a computer science student.
    that
you have some problem in the scheduler script
you had written for torrents d/l etc.
    that
you did not want Imran's utility to be used.

    Para two;
My post was for accessing 192.168.1.1 specifically
and if you had noticed any mistake / wrong steps
in it , ( because of your higher qualifications)
and then taken me to task ,
I will gladly accept my mistake

    or
    you simply IGNORE the post,
and I take the hint, and
stop posting further in same thread,
and go for "greener pastures" elsewhere!
    for my level of knowledge!

I did not/ open this thread earlier and missed your reply!
    .
We are all taking part in these forum/s
    voluntarily, without any reward/incentive/money/
or appreciation, or a simple thank you,
in return ( most of the time )

And spend time in helping others, who need
    solution to their problems.
and also LEARN more in the process,
    and fine tune/polish language skills
in technical writing , and develop a
    "scientific temper ".
( which you need in your studies ,
for presenting project reports/ thesis etc)

If you need a "punching bag " you can PM me ,
instead of posting in the forum !!

Expecting your contribution/s to this forum as usual.
    Have a nice day

ok.. lets leave this topic here without discussing about the cause of mistake..

i would like to mention some updates..
i have used some softwares to keep the connection alive.. Bysoft Stay Alive, DNSExit IP Update etc.
they update the ip and check for the connection using http .. at regular intervals..
    But nothings helped.. as usual
from past 3 days i noticed that the connection drops down after uTorrent is downloading fast ..at above 200 KBPS.. after 15-20-25mins of this 200KBPS download connection fails.. so i need to manually switch off and on the modem..
    it is very annoying..
so is it the problem with modem.. that it is not bearing the high speed..??
or some power supply related problem..??
