Thread: Certain sites restricted?

Hey everyone

I am in nagpur, and am running BSNL's UL1350 with 512 kbps speeds. since i'd say the day before yesterday i've noticed no streaming video sites are running, youtube shows text only access, as do a couple of other sites, even cnn has most of it's content restricted.

these same sites work fine when run through a ip blocking website like hidemyass.com ...

am i the only one with this issue or is anyone else finding the web being just a little off over the last couple of days? speeds are fine, downloads are showing the same normal 50+kbps effective download speed. just some websites that aren't working...

Try Open DNS

You should Install Hot Spot Shield(google it, & get it from official site cause its free). There may be a problem with the firewall you're using.

don't suggest this hot spot shield as some magic solution to fix all problems related to sites not opening.i have read its reviews & it is not even that good firewall.

Its not a firewall. Its just proxy server to temporarily fix the problem. He said using proxy helps thus I suggested this. This is not a permanent solution any way. Changing the dns server may help.
