Exclamation Websites don't display properly in PPPoE Mode !

I'm using Bsnl Broadband Home 500 plan for last two years. I generally prefer to use the bridge mode for connecting to internet but I have experienced some strange problems when I use the PPPoE mode in my modem which are as follows

    1) Very slow browsing speed but normal Torrent speeds ~ 200kBps.
    2) Websites won't display properly and I have to refresh(F5) several times to display the site.
    3) Flash files in webpages do not appear giving a message Internet explorer cannot display the webpage properly ,also the same with other browsers like Firefox.
    4) If I keep open a website for 4-5 mins it freezes and the links within the websites stop responding.

But the above problems do not occur when I use Bridged mode.

I am using HUAWEI SmartAx MT882 modem that BSNL gave me with this connection. Modem details are below ...

Is there any problem with my Modem ?

Possibly a malware making numerous connection requests. Use CA Yahoo Antispy and other tools for a full system scan. Please refer Top 7 Tips........ in my signature.

If it was due to malware attack then the problem would be both in Bridge and PPPoE mode. I think my problem has something to do with my modem....

And secondly malware attack in my computer is very uncertain because I'm using Norton Internet Security 2009 and it's definitions are always up to date.

I use to have Norton Internet Security 2009 before I was fed up of background downloading by some virus. Switched back to Avira. It can be one of the problems, not necessarily the exact one.

Hii brodbnd, I am from Kolkata too
the problem you posted above this is cause from the malware. But you say you have the upto date antivirus. So I think you can try with this, if the problem will solve.

Go to the SmartAX MT882 modem web page. Then HOME --- DHCP
    Enable the DHCP Server.
Then cheak the DNS. You have to enable it if it is not enable.
Then Go to Tools ---- System Settings
    Then save and restart
after Restart your modem Go to My Network Places Right Click then Properties
Then select Local Area Connection ---- Right Click then Properties
Then double click the Internet Protocol
In this windo select obtain IP address automatically
and select Obtain DNS Server Automatically
    Save and restart your Computer.

If the problem still have then the problem from your Norton Internet Security 2009
The firewall Which is blocking the DNS translating computer hostnames into IP addresses.

Uninstall the Norton Internet Security 2009 then cheak it. If your computer free from malware then your computer will browse in good speed after uninstalling the Norton Internet Security.

set MTU in modem settings under LAN/network settings to 1492.you can try lower values too like 1470,1460,1450 etc to see if it helps.
