Thread: What will be happened if I use home plan for business purpose in my shop

I take a Home Unlimited plan. My shop is attached to my room. Now please tell me what will be happened If use home plane for business purposes. Is it legally offensive.

If found out, a considerable amount will be charged as fine.

Nothing much just once when they come to know it,

- They will first disconnect your line
- Then from the day you took line till date the line will be considered as commercial line (even though if you had used for home earlier)
- Then Bill will be calculated and amount you have paid will be deducted and the rest will be asked to pay
- If you refuse to pay that, then will take the help of judiciary.

Using your Home plan in Your Home.
use it as usual.
1.For business purposes: Do you
intend to start an Internet surfing shop ?
with computers for public to use ?

2.just use for your business correspondence ?

3. Or use additional computer or Laptop in your shop and
use it for personal work ?

4. Difficult to pinpoint what constitutes business purposes.
BSNL may consider any computer working in a shop/ with a name board
as "Business" connection.

5. By the way, what is the modem/router model and make you use ?.

According to BSNL any were usage for the commersial purpose, In which you earn revenue directly interacting with customers is known as business.

If you earn by ad click or data entry or anything like that its not business as will not be directly interacting with the people.

If the same connection is used at home itself and you earn money by giving online reservatin facilities or anything of that kind then its business.

It is a dicey situation. What is your shop business?

If you use the home connection in your shop purely for personal purposes then it may be OK.

Note that you cannot use the connection for any business use including business mail. Nor can you allow anyone in your shop to use your connection.

Whatever the case might be, BSNL clearly states that the addess of the premises determines the usage model. Clearly, the shop address is commercial. So they may state that your usage is not legal.

# Home plan can be taken on Bfones in name of Government/company but actually working at residences of their employees. An undertaking shall have to be given by the customer in this regard.
# Subscribers having telephones in the name of Company, firms, shops, educational institutes or any other commercial entity can take only Business Plan. They are not eligible for Home Plan except startup plan 250

You can use Home 250 tariff plan in your
business location.

I dont think BSNL will be very rigid i taking action

All rules, regulations, legislations are just in papers.

My friend downloaded around 11 GB in Home 500 Day time.

He got a huge bill, that he dnt want to pay.

So he left as it is.

BSNL followed him up with a Lawyer Notice.

He dnt take it a serious issue.

Finally, the situation looks like the Issue vanished.

Buy business plan for business and live happily and peacefully. Getting disturbed just for saving small amount is not worth. Think once again.

Did his Bsnl BB landline and BB connection also vanish ?

Till date he is lucky, but i am sure he wont be all the way.
BSNL may be very lazy but they work. So nay have not heard anything other than that notice but surely one or the other day that issue will come front.
