hi...
Im using BSNL Home 500 night unlimited plan..
they have told given some free space for using mail... they have given email id & password but i have using that in Webmail but its not working!!!

how to use that webmail what is the webpage for that...please help..

Better to use OE or Outlook express.
Dataone Mail Client Configuration

use "bsn"l instead of "dataone". for SMTP and POP3 .

Go to data.bsnl.in, log in using your 14 digit portal ID and password. On top, you will find a email option. To log in you need user name and password.

I always got this error.

The username and password you have entered do not match. Please try again.

Never I could access my email account though I could connect internet or see uses.

Can anybody help me ?

Talk to customer care. Ask them to log in using their screen. If fails ask for a password reset. Go to " My orders " in data.bsnl.in and check your user name is correct.

thats right if you call 1500 or 18004241600 they will give you the userid and password

Login for BB users with Ip 117.xx.xx.xx

This @ bsnl.in is also used by the sancharnet/netone dialup users.
so better to try access in OE or Outlook or with the mail client you use.

See Post NO 2 .
The SAME userId and Password, used for connecting
to Internet will work.
Mine Dataone web mail opening OK.

From yahoo I tried to send test email to my bsnl email address. But it came back with error. This happened nearly 10 times. I contacted call center. They gave me one number which is always busy. Then I went to local exchange for this. They said that they have given this contract to some private people. They come rarely in the exchange.


Cant find any way out. This is bsnl.

Did you try to create an accourt
in Outlook or Outlook Express?

set smtp as smtp.bsnl.in for sending messages
nmma.bsnl.in for POP3 ( or smma.bsnl.in or wmma.bsnl.in)

In OUTLOOK I got following errors. I tried all pop3 servers you mentioned in your post.

Log onto incoming mail server (POP3): Your e-mail server rejected your login. Verify your user name and password in your account properties. Under Tools, click E-mail accounts. The server responded: -ERR invalid user name or password.

Send test e-mail message: Cannot send the message. Verify the e-mail address in your account properties. The server responded: 553 Authentication is required to send mail as <***********@bsnl.in>

In my profile they have given the same email id which I am trying to use.


Below is the error I get from yahoo


Hi. This is the qmail-send program at yahoo.com.
I'm afraid I wasn't able to deliver your message to the following addresses.
This is a permanent error; I've given up. Sorry it didn't work out.

<**********@bsnl.in>:
218.248.240.205 does not like recipient.
Remote host said: 550 Invalid recipient: <**********@bsnl.in>
Giving up on 218.248.240.205.

I will try tomorrow what you suggested in your post and I will give you feedback.

unfortunately there was no feedback.
I also don't remember
, from where i got the info

REQUEST:
Please edit your message and delete
second part of Yahoo Mail details not needed

my server requires authentication
and
click on the settings button right next to this option.
there make sure you select the option
"use the same settings as my incoming mail server".

Click O .K.
then apply and OK and start sending mails.

(A)Send an email from somewhere else to abcd @ bsnl.in
or
(B)Send an email to abcd @ bsnl.in ( no space in email id)
in OE itself .

After log in to Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd.- India's No. 1 Telecommunications Company
in the new page there is a link "email" on right side top.
When clicked shows this link , but does not load.
10.18.12.24:8888/webedge
No idea whether this will open WEBmail page for
users with IP 117.xx.xx.xx ( mine 59.xx.xx.xx )



OR
to send an email to BSNL.

Thank you very much essbebe. Today I got my correct email id from my local exchange. jayshan88 helped me a lot. I am staying near Mumbai but he worked out from chennai. You both are of helping nature. Keep it up. Thank you once again.

solutions , which are available in their websites.



Please confirm
examples for 117.xx.xx.xx.
user Id jay34xxxx @ bsnl.in password : xx234xxx set 1.
Email Id shan xxxx @bsnl.in password : xxxxxxxx set 2
Usage Portal: sha12506052009 password password set 3 .

Now whether, could access the web mail web site. with set 2 also.

I have sent thanks giving email to jayshan88@gmail.com the very next moment.
All the three passwords working correctly for me.

Following setting in Outlook Express worked for me.
