Thread: Were BSNL servers down last night ?

Was BSNL doing some server repairs or something last night ?
I was heavy getting packet loss every 10 minutes or so at around 11pm IST and then finally complete outage from 12pm IST onwards.
It's back to normal now.

I could not open this and many other sites...My torrents were working fine though.

Experienced no errors.

Last night In Kolkata the Server with 59 completly down and the server 117 was disconnect from B-RAS server.

This may be the reason:

Fire at BSNL Kolkatta office, 70K lines down
KOLKATA: Over 70,000 landlines and 10,000 broadband connections including those, reportedly, at chief minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee's Palm Avenue
residence tripped after a fire broke out at a BSNL office on Hungerford Street around 10 pm on Tuesday. Though five fire tenders managed to bring the situation under control in two hours, the thick smoke triggered panic in the area.

BSNL may take two weeks to be back online
KOLKATA: At least 64,500 phone lines and 12,000 broadband connections have gone dead in the heart of the city following the fire at BSNL's Circus
exchange on Hungerford Street on Tuesday night.

Worse, it may take BSNL nearly a fortnight to restore all the connections. The sphere of disruption touches Park Street in the north; AJC Bose Road, Bondel Road and Picnic Garden in the south; EM Bypass in the east and Jawaharlal Nehru Road in the west

OMG Two weeks is a long time, i guess BSNL will have to bear a very heavy loss this month.

They will charge irrespective of connection is ok or not.

only if its less than a week , otherwise they are liable to deduct money....

Can you confirm the exact time. I heard it is 10 days.

yea , its 10 days , it happened to me , i followed the procedure..but i didnt get the refund!!

oops sorry , i thought you guys were talking about the monthly rent being waived off , if there is no service for 10 days!!

We were discussing the same. Whole month's rent will be discounted or 15 days ?

well its supposed to be the whole month's rent.. i had this problem.. i had even applied for it.. but didnt get any rent waived off , i didnt even bother later to go behind it!!
