Thread: Help for using BSNL Broadband wireless

Hi,
I Have BSNL broadband with Utstarcom- UT300R2U router/modem supplied by BSNLwith one USB and one LAN port . I wated to create wireless internet access for my laptop which dont have wi-fi facility .Please advice me for the requirement of suitable and reliable hardware with cost for laptop and wireless modem. Also indicate how to connect it to Utstarcom- UT300R2U router/modem.

1.For your laptop you need a wireless LAN card, which is
inserted usually in the right side or left side of your laptop.
Cost around Rs 1000/= for a netgear model
Just insert the CD, and read the instructions before
inserting the hardware.
Confirm.

2. Try to exchange the adsl modem for a wifi modem/router
with bsnl rent Rs 50 Pm or purchase at Rs 1600/+ taxes
If not interested
buy a netgear WIFI router WGR 614
cost approx Rs1600 to Rs 2000

3. In your laptop you have to set up a Wireless LAN
connection.
Start/All programs/ Accessories/communications
test with a LAN port/ethernet port connection
Network connection wizard
( ignore if done, and using laptop in LAN mode )

Wireless network connection Wizard.
Follow instructions.

+1 for a netgear wifi route.r. or you could for the bsnl provided wifi router also
