Thread: Login problem by Portal-id

i m using bsnl home 500 c plan 4 a long time....i had my bsnl portal id and password ...bt yesterday i changed both of my pass and portal id... i changed the portal id ...and it was successfully done..i just logged out....and again tried to login with the new id but...it said wrong id and password.....so i tried the old one ...and i logged in...then i tried to change that password..........
after changing password i clicked on submit button but on the nxt screen it says that it didn't change the pass....

so i logged out....and tried to login with new /old password/portal-id by interchanging....bt it didn't work....so can any one tell what do..?without visiting the local exchange....those pepple take a lng time....they r too lazy to work./....

Mention your IP address. presume 117.xx.xx.xx
have you enabled Javascript ? Which browser you use? IE preferred.
Who is going to access your usage portal ? ( 14digit ID)
Let the password remain as password.
Presume it is your user ID PW you need/want to change.
?

i have 117.xxxxxxxxx ip.....n i use firefox...i just wanted change ..here was no reason...just i tried....hehe......obviously ...i will use the usage portal....

i need a quick rply....

Call customer care and ask for a password reset. It can be done in a minute's time.

A call to local exchange can do this for you. They keep in their records.

Then you need a 14 digit alphanumeric USAGE Portal ID
EXAMPLE aju12345082009 password password.

Confirm.
How you access the Internet now ?

IP Tracer, IP Tracker, IP Locator and other DNS tools

i also faced the same problem , i asked about this problem in the thread datafox is not working and Mr. Dilip suggested that i should ask exchange people to reset my password ,i don't have my exchange number and the number provided by call center executive is always busy , any place where i can find the number of my exchange.

i think you conldn't get what i said. i changed the password of portal-id not my connection's and also my portal-id.

117.xx.xx.xx
You have UserId and password =============>>>>>. set ONE
You have 14digit usage portal ID and password ====>>>>> set Two
you have Webmail Id and password ==========>>>>. same as set One.


How you access the Internet Now ?

"Dialer" Wanminiport mode
USERID and PW entered externally to the modem.

or "Always On" PPP/PPPoE mode.
USERID and PW entered in WAN page of modem.


Which password you needed ?

Did you get it from Exchange ? All fine now.?

If not busy, try a visit in person. You will find a no on the backside of your bill. Try your luck. You can speak to customer care and tell them the no they give is not working.

does portal id carries only 14 digit no0?. can i change it to more than 14 digit.? like before it had 14 digit : abcd12345678 .i am saying can i change it to like abcdef12345678 like these.

You can try it at the portal. Here is the procedure

How to change your BSNL Portal ID

By default, portal ID is a 14 digit code of the format abc+++25102008

abc - From your surname
+++ - A 3 digit no
25102008 - Date of application

Try trail and error at the portal.

hey, i just called them today and the customer care told me to give a written complain.

I think they are doing the babugiri. They can simply tell you. Carry on and give an application. We have little choice here.
