Dear Friend thanks a ton for your reply ...

I would like to tell you that i am newbie for Networking so the solution provided seems a bit complicated.

For your ease i would like to give you the details of Hardware that i have. Actually i have a 8-Port D-Link Switch and a SmartAX MT882 (BSNL) Modem to connect one Desktop and one Laptop...

Earlier i used to connect my Desktop directly to the net (BSNL Broadband), now iv bought a laptop and the entire confusion starts there....

Hope that the above information will help you to provide the solution.

    Regards...

You need to configure the modem in PPPoE mode.

Here is the link: SmartAX MT-882 ADSL MODEM MULTIUSER CONFIGURATION
