Default ZTE 830 AII and Vista

I am using ZTE 830 AII modem.... As described here i have done aal the setting of the modem and it got connected (In Auto Dialup Mode)... since it is showing connected in modem configuration page (192.168.1.1).

But the problem is I am unable to open any site. In the diagnose problem feature of vista it is showing problem with dns server...

What is the problem?

Try Open DNS

Start > control panel > network connections > Choose you connection >
Properties > TCP/IP > Properties

The Setting is TCP/IP are:

IP Address: 192.168.1.2
Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0
GAteway: 192.168.1.1

DNS Server: 192.168.1.1

Although I changed the DNS Server to Open DNS bt still the problem remains the same.

It generic. Please mention the mode you are using. Can you connect to internet by simply switching On your modem or you need a dialler ?

Are you sure that you changed the setting in the proper connection. Try in LAN also ( Local area connection ).

IT is IN AUTO DIAL Mode. Means it gets connected as soon as i switch on the modem. All four lights including the the DATA/Internet Light Glows.
All values like VCI etc are correct 0-35. N it is showing connected there... bt vista is not connecting to internet. In Network n Connection sharing it is showing cross MArks in LAN to Internet Line.

I have only one LAN Card through which my modem is connected (ZTE 830 AII)

Please change the DNS settings in your LAN properties.

PS: Please avoid using SMS content. Mods may delete such content without notice.

Thanks buddy.. but i changed the DNS Settings. Initially it was set to 192.168.1.1 (Primary DNS Only) then i changed to another set. Those were also of BSNL (mentioned here).

Lastly i changed it to OPEN DNS.
