well many times such pics haev been posted in bsnl bb orkut communities also, but most turned out to be just spurge n such speed is not constant or it is just a hoax, but if ur really getting so high speeds in how much time u can download a 400 mb file .. just asking
You can do a measurement on speedtest.net and post the link.
I dont think you'd ever get 1 Gbps even for a few moments. Are you sure its the download speed? I think what you are looking at is the speed of your NIC and you have a Gigabit capable ethernet card.
I have a Gigabit ethernet card as well and it does show connected at 1 Gbps. What it really means is that even if in future some ISP provides 1 Gbps connection speed, this NIC can handle it. Purely a hardware capability measure rather than the actual connection speed.

Please note that 1 MB is not the same 1 Mb
1Gbps = 1000 Mbps = 125 MBps. (1B = 8b)
So at 125 MBps, your 400 MB file would be downloaded in less than 5 seconds.
For screenshot, simply hit the Printscreen button, paste in Paint and save as JPEG file. Whie replying in the full mode, click "Manage Attachments" button below, browse for the file, upload and submit reply.

LOLz
No ISP in India has that much infrastructure to provide 1Gbps=125MB/s connection to a customer....
It might be the connection speed u see....
^^
lol @ 1gbps
plz check this topic
http://www.indiabroadband.net/bsnl-b...mbps-bsnl.html (73 Mbps on BSNL??)
r u getting constant speed of 1Gbps?? if not, u may be victim of buffering![]()
that 1gbps is your LAN speed not your Internet speed.. as mentioned above do a test at Speedtest.net - The Global Broadband Speed Test
i get 1gbps speed too!! too bad that's my lan speed.
my router doesn't support more than 100mbps. for some reason my modem sometimes connects at 1gbps and sometimes at 100mbps. i have stopped paying attention to it.
It is like a large diameter pipe. The pipe can supply water at 5 litres per second but the supply to it is only 500 ml per second. What are you going to get?
Please post a speedtest.net link.
Procedure :
Go to speedtest.net, perform a speed test, there is an option under the result " Copy forum link ", click it and paste the code here.
there was this one more person who claimed to get 16mbps on a 2mbps MTNL line , i wonder what happened to him.
^ may be he is too busy downloading.
