    Not possible. There is no way you can get 200 KBps on a ul750 connection. even if you get 30KBps, you should be satisfied.

    ul750 = 256kbps (as per BSNL specifications) = 32KBps

    32 kBps is ideal case ( if you are living near or have very less TCP/IP overheads). You should expect a further loss atmost 13 % which will give you a minimum speed of 28kBps.

    I too use UL 750. The maximum is 32 KBps. If you are getting somewhere near 28, it is nice.

    You can try TCP/IP optimizer from speedguide.net. It will help you achieve maximum speed. For torrents, try port forwarding.

    18lama,

    How did u determine this?
    As till Nov 2007 I used to get 200kbps download speed from the UL900 (Rs.900) plan in bangalore. Then after I changed to Rs.500 plan as I moved out of town for a year. Whne i returned I changed back to unlimited plan UL750 and now I get only 28-32kbps as the download speed.

    Regards,
    Sandeep

    I too have UL 750. 28 - 30 KBps is a very descent speed.

    there may have been a mistake in configuration on their side, which maybe why you got the higher speed.

    possibly... as I had downloaded hell lot of stuff with that speed. I think I was using unlimted plan with that speed for more than a year. I should not have changed the plan at all... .

    Does anyone have any idea on when the faster connections will be available. I have heard about NTB-II and also read it in BSNL website. Any idea when will this be available?
