Basically this post was for WA3002-G4 and
similarity with other WIFI routers / adsl modems
    was highlighted.

FIRMWARE UPDATE FOR DNA A 211-I

Do not try in other modems.

As far as I know , only Software update
for Sem DNA -A211-I is available. ( may suit ITI model also )
( doubtful about WA3002-G4 ( try at OWN RISK )
Nearest choice Beetel 450BX FW( try at OWN RISK )

Can compile latest FW for most modems ( other than Dlink ),
but many users will blame me if anything goes wrong.
An user asking for a FW update should know ,
what is the risk involved. And mostly
it is about menu items. ( Like PF virtual server DDNS etc )
    Speed etc will not improve.

What are you in PPPoE or bridge

First delete PPP adapter Reliance if not using. Then setup PPPoE desktop from your Internet Properties. If you want to use wireless then disconnect your lan connection from your Router.

If you have configured in PPPoE mode, simply plug in the RJ 45 cable to the back side of modem and to the LAN card. If you need to use more than one system independently, you need to be in PPPoE.

No.this modem/router/is telephone line based adsl mode..
    2.
SSID stands for Service Set Identifier, a rather elaborate substitute for "network name." It's the unique name that identifies the wireless network you use, differentiating it from all others....

Follow this thread from the first post. You will get all necessary links.

    You can follow these steps

    1. Configure your modem in PPPoE.

    2. Enable DHCP in modem.

    3. In the TCP/IP properties of the connection, set " Obtain IP address automatically ".

2 of the links guide to type 192.168.1.1 into the browser, but typing that onto the browser just shows an error and doesn't open anything.

I'm on Win 7, if that helps.

    1. Which mode do you use ? PPPoE or Bridge ?

    2. Try the link given above for " no access " problem. If nothing works, simply reset your modem and reconfigure it.

So you are getting problems only on torrent ?

    1. Disable your firewall and check.

    2. Disable your antivirus and check.

    3. Which torrent client do you use ? Try another. Vuze or utorrent will be fine.

    4. Try port forwarding.

    1. Did you check that there are enough seeds for the file you are downloading. If no. of seeds is zero, utorrent will stop downloading.

    2. Try reinstalling utorrent.

    3. Do you see an yellow triangle at the bottom on utorrent. Post a screen shot.

It is a step in port forwarding. It allows connection to the seeds and peers.

I am facing the disconnection problem again quite frequently.
I am using utorrent and after an hour of download the tick mark/earth symbol on right down corner will be gone followed by a yellow triangle appearing.
I have to then restart the computer in order to download again.
Is it got to do with the operating system Windows Vista Home Premium which I am using or utorrent?
    or the router settings?
    Please help.

    1. Tried post no. 42 ?

    2. Install another torrent client (Eg.Vuze) and check.

    3. Reinstall utorrent and check. You can resume from where you stopped. Simply add torrent and give the location of the uncompleted download. It will begin from where you stopped.

    4. In utorrent, Options > Preferences > Connection > Enable uPnP port mapping.

    5. Post your SNR and attenuation values. Do you hear a hissing sound while using your land line ?

    1. Try disabling antivirus too. At times, it can be the reason.

    2. Get your line checked by the line man. Ask him to remove joints and non insulated parts.

    3. Make sure all lines come after splitter. Please refer

Check device manager and see if any drivers are showing problem. If possible reset the modem and reconfigure it. It worked in some cases.

Did you tried Vuze ? If not give it a try.

Wait. Configure your modem in Bridge mode and check.

    Procedure :

    1. Type 192.168.1.1 in the browser.

    2. ID and password is admin.

    3. In the WAN page, select the entry with 0-35, edit it to bridge in place of PPPoE.
