Rep Power: 3 | Dear friends, This is my second month with BSNL DataOne first month it worked fine with out any problems but, from second month i am facing a wired problem. Even if the modem gets connected none of the pages opens, i tried what ever i could have done to solve the problem from my side, resetting the modem, changing the DNS, switching to Bridge mode then back to PPPoE mode.... but none helped then i decided to seek the unprofessional help of the bsnl BABUS. First they said the modem is faulty, got it replaced by them.. problem remains their, then the BABUS came to my home to check the settings, JTO he seemed to be new to windows vista... he learned how to do things in vista from me and left saying i will check it from his office, then the SDE came same case here too but this time they brought one laptop thinking that my laptop is corrupted or faulty... but it didnt even worked on their laptop tooo.... Then they replaced my port, but the problem remains. Then i did some research, after the modem gets online i have to check whether its working or not if its not working then i have to switch it off and then i switch it on and then check again....this i do until i am able to browse. Until i switch off the modem it will work fine, but the moment i switch off the modem and if i switch it on when i need it, it will not work then i will have to follow the above said procedure until it works. So now a days once it starts working i keep the modem on whole day even if i dont need it. Guys plz help. |

Rep Power: 12 | @deepmohan After 486 posts , you have forgotten to post the modem/make/model. details , badly required to analyse the problem. Keeping it onH24 you get connected to internet . Please post ADSl status page. How you connect: Dialer mode or "always on "? Post ipconfig /all data Do you use any UPS ? Quote:

| @deepmohan Nice to hear from you. I am not sure, but trying to reset internet settings (in Internet options) may be of some use. |

Rep Power: 12 | Info: DNA211-I Software updated from Sem India . Somehow you are getting a stable connection, when connected. You have tried a different modem also. all below may or may not help. Just a try. suggestion 1 : In dsl menu page uncheck adsl2 + Check SNR/Attn data again. Suggestion 2 ; in Management or maintenance page Check Client tr_069 if enabled. disable it. Another button 'SOAP" also disable it. if not available in your modem ignore above. Suggestion3 : use openDNs 208.67.220.220 208.67.222.222 both in the modem and TCP/IP properties. Suggestion 4 : Hope for parallel phone if any, in other rooms, you use additional ADSl splitter. Suggestion 4 : When you don't get connected , but some "blinking" is going on check the modem log for any clue. Suggestion 5 : Check: Is the telephone cable by BSNL to phone junctions , multi paired , or single pair? ( Yours a Flat complex ?) ( usually two pairs ( four wires) for each connection now ) Suggestion 6. recheck wifi settings / or Disable WIFI. for testing. see new thread "utstar wa3002-G4 quick reference" . Since somehow you are getting a stable connection, when connected. You have tried a different modem also. all above may or may not help. Just a try. |

Rep Power: 2 | I had same problem. I am using duel mode XP + Vista . This problem was in vista. Here is solution. Try it on your own risk because I am not an expert. But it solved my problem. Open Device Manager. View > Show hidden devices. Expand Network adapters. Uninstall or Disable 6T04 Adapters, isatap.{ } , Teredo Tunneling Pseudo-interface , Wan Miniport (ipv6) , Wan Miniport (L2TP) , Wan Miniport (PPTP) After that, connect to net. Your problem may be solved. |

Rep Power: 3 | @essbebe Ya IPV6 is disabled, but thats not the issue it dont even work on the my other laptop with XP. The BSNL Guys too seem to be helpless in the last visit by a bsnl techi he is saying that my Internet Browser is having the problem, and i have to take the laptop to the exchange and get it checked there whether it works or not. And i am sure it is going to work there and they will say something new. |

Rep Power: 2 | Your DNS looks weird .... BSNL GUYS GAVE ME 61.0.0.5 & 61.1.96.69 , and your DNS is not among the open DNS list. Your preferred DNS also matches the preferred IP address which also looks strange ... |

Rep Power: 5 | 192.168.1.1 as DNS would take the modem's DNS servers which would be bsnl dns again!! |

Rep Power: 12 | @deepmohan YOUR POST NO 10. From where you got this DNS? is it changed now in Post 13. with opendns 208.67.220.220 and 208.67.222.222 Enter Opendns BOTH in router and TCP/IP settings. Quote:
Presume you are trying the WIFI mode only. Have you tried LAN mode in Vista laptop? Also check the Wireless Lan card settings " configure" & "Advanced" in the TCp/Ip page. Usually SSID is selected or Adhoc B mode or Adhoc G mode. . In Mine Netgear WGR614 v6 I have selected Adhoc B mode. will Change to Adhoc G or SSID , if needed by you for results. Compare settings with with XP laptop. | |
