Arrow Changing my currnt plan to Home 1000, Any ideas/suggestions? Please.

    Hello All,
I'm currently BSNL UL 750 plan user. I wanted to change my plan to Home 1000 (I've read about it & loved it).. But, I'm not sure about it.
As it is BSNL, problems or bad facts should be there?

    Any suggestions/ideas/precautions should I take?
If you want to suggest, then please!

I've read this thread.. named "Precautions during plan change"..
    Anything else?

    Regards,
    ~IS.

    By the way, meetdilip,
I've heard that, If I want to use night unlimited.. I've to reboot my router at 2 AM & 8 AM also.. otherwise, it will be counted as normal.

    Is that true?
    What is about that>?

One more thing i would like to ask "When you change to a higher plan, you should pay one month's rent as advance" will this hold true for me?

yes its true, if you wont restart your router at 2.00 or 8.00 it will be counted as chargeable unit.

Yes. The start time and end time should be within 2.00 am and 8.00 am. You need to reboot or switch On and off your modem a little after 2.00 am and a little before 8.00 am. There is no need to stay awake. We can automate the whole process.

    Try this

If you change on 5 th, till 5th you will be charged under previous plan and for next 25 days according to the new plan. You will not get full 1.5 GB or full 2.5 GB.

    For 5 days 5/30 x 2.5 GB; next 25 days, 25/30 x 1.5 GB. Both cycles start from 1st of every month.

Not sure. Please wait further comments.

    As per BSNL website,

Advance Monthly Rental for BB : As per billing cycle (one Month /two months)

Source : Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd.

I was asked to pay Rs. 750 as advance when I shifted to UL 750. My phone bill is monthly since I started using broadband.

    meet,
In day time, If I only use it for surfing, watching videos, downloading youtube videos (of Small Sizes)... Will it exceed 5 GB at the end of the month?

One hour of surfing without video and audio streaming will cost around 20 MB. If you try video and audio, it will be somewhere around 100 - 150 MB. Hope it will give some idea.

5 GB is more than enough for domestic use.

    2. Tried using BSNL Broadband usage finder 1.3, isn't worked.

    What should I do?

Just tried data.bsnl.in. It is working for me. Close the window and try again.

Install the bandwidth meter to avoid such situation.

You can download during night unlimited. 5 GB means a lot. Many of our users manage with just 2.5 GB per month and download up to 40 GB during night unlimited. Use schedulers and automate the download.

    Yeah. I'll download at night.
Dude.. Is their any tutorial/thread based on uTorrent/BitTorrent schedulers..?
If there are any, please link them to me!
I've not used schedulers before.. :ninja:

Dude.. I know there is a limit of 5 GB. So, When I surf the internet, watches videos.. the shaMeter shows a drastical increase.. Only 4-5 videos take me upto 60-70 MBs usage! Thats very strange.. Ok, I'll go for that!

you could leave utorrent on always. but schedule it to download/upload only between 2 and 8am , i think they have a scheduler built-in..
