    Unhappy Data led in modem doesn't glow

    Hi All,

    I am new to this forum.
    I just took the BSNL broad band connection with Type 1 modem.

    First when i connected to internet, i changed my password (for eg. from xyz to abc) which BSNL line man gave it to me while installation.

    The very next day i was unable to connect to internet. Then i used the new password (ie abc) in 192.168.1.1 I was then able to connect to internet.

    Just after 2 days i was unable to connect to internet.

    Other details:
    1. Modem works fine, as i checked it in my friends sys.
    2. I changed my password to the old one (from abc to xyz).
    3. I didn't get bsnl.in id from anywhere, is this the problem? cos of this i am unable to check the internet usage.
    4. I changed my dataone.in mail pwd to old one (from abc to xyz).
    5. Call center 1500 seems 24/7 engaged. it gives me engaged tone whenever they try to connect my call to operator.
    6. Phone line works fine. i am able to call mobile no.'s.
    7. Ethernet card works fine.
    8. Mine is 299 plan.

    Data led doesn't glow and i am unable to connect to internet.

    i took broad band connection a week before after a month struggle. i used only 3 days after that problem persist. Call center is busy and the bsnl officers are extremely busy.

    please suggest me some solution to get this fixed.

    Go to your nearest exchange office & check if your ports are properly connected there.. if you talked about your problem to exchange officer, he'll surely help you!

    Have you used internet ? means, as you are saying.. after 3 days, you got this problem, then, if yes, then try resetting your modem.

    Yes, i tried resetting using a pin button provided at the back side of the modem. Still facing the same problem.
    I called up BSNL office and explained him the problem, he finally asked me to bring the modem & splitter. just made a try in this forum as i can meet him only on saturday.

    Ask the exchange for your email ID. When you cross the usage limit, BSNL will send a notification mail to this ID. You will find more use for your ID.

    Is the dataone.in id different from bsnl.in id? cos i got dataone.in id from line man.
    Dataone mail works fine but when tried using the same id and pwd in bsnl portal i am unable login.

    Yes. For old connections, they give dataone.in ID and for new ones, they give bsnl.in ID.
