Default nooB qs. regarding wireless modem settings (pls help)

    Hi,

    please help a nooB brother.

I've bought a new wa3002g4 modem from bsnl after much red-tape, and managed to get it working on a lan-ned desktop and wireless laptop on pppoe mode (that means password stored in modem, right?) -- all thanks to the hordes of useful guides on this great forum.

however, what i really need is to get the 2 comps working on bridged mode, so that i can connect to the internet and disconnect through a dialer. ive got nighttime (2am 8 am) download automated on an ubuntu partition on the lan-ned desktop with a lot of scripts which i don't want to let go off right now, and for these scripts to work, bridged mode is necessary.

as much as i'd to keep bridged mode, the problem is the laptop and the wireless connection. can a wireless laptop work and dial the internet through the bridged mode setting on the modem? or are the two things mutually exclusive?

is it possible for me to get the reqd. setup working through a bridged mode - ie, a desktop/lan dialing the modem through a dialer/pon/poff (windows/ubu), and also a windows laptop which is capable of independently dialing the modem and connecting to the dataone internet? is there a "wireless dialer" (or some such thing) that anyone knows off?

i hope my qs. made sense. (i hope for my sake )

any help would be much appreciated. thanks!

For Windows you can automate the downloaded well in PPPoE (password in modem) using Imrans Broadband Helper Utility.

    Try here

    Thanks dilip!

one problem though - i download via linux, not windows.

can't i just run a desktop and wireless laptop both through bridge mode? somehow?

(PS dilip: if the above is not possible, then i'll perhaps go with your solution.)

If in Bridge mode first you will have to connect to internet through your desktop, then you can use your laptop in wireless mode.
