There is a known issue with the BSNL modem model no DNA-A211. If you are unable to connect to the internet and if you get " destination net unreachable " with 4 replies from a private ip address For example 10.54.112.25, ping statistics say "packets sent =4, received =4, lost =0" then its the issue with the firmware on your modem. There is no use in troubleshooting any further. Take your modem to the nearest BSNL office and get the firmware flashed on your modem.
Note: Please don't mention the term firmware as they will not know, tell them the modem has software issues and it will be taken care of..
