Default HELP : Upload speed almost nil for almost a week now

Hi all, I am again facing a problem with BSNL and it seems there is always a problem with BSNL. I had shifted to Guwahati after which I started using BSNL. I had already faced almost a month of downtime during January and February.

Now I am again facing a problem where my upload speed is extremely low. My plan is 512 Kbps unlimited plan where I normally get around 55-60 kbps download and 50-60 kbps upload. But since the last one week, the uploading speed is almost nil. I am not even getting 7 kpbs upload speed and often it reduces to almost 0 kbps upload speed.

I have tried changing all settings, I have also tried with several computers and I have also tried bypassing the router. I have been complaining to almost all high officials and support at Guwahati but the fools do not know what is upload speed. They are asking me what is upload speed. And without any knowledge, they are simply saying that there must be some problem on my side. I have checked everything and I am 100% sure there is no problem. I have also tried opendns but it did not help too.

I am a website owner of several websites and so upload speed is very important for me. I have also tried uploading to my server and various other servers. Even youtube and rapidshare uploading is not working. Speedtest is also showing the upload speed as 0.00 mbps - 0.05 mbps though it shows my download speed as 0.50+ mbps which is ok. I am getting frustated as my upload speed is more important for me than the download speed.

The BSNL guys are a bunch of fools and they hardly know anything. They are simply trying to give lame excuses and one office is pointing fingers at the other. I am not sure what to do and without upload speed I am facing severe problems. Please inform me what should I do now.

I was in Delhi and even Sify in Delhi was better than BSNL in Guwahati. I am really getting irritated and need your guidance and suggestions.

Just to add to the above post, I do not use torrent at all and so there should surely be no problem of port. My uploading speed is extremely slow even when I upload using browser in sites like youtube, rapidshare. It is also the same when I upload using FTP. My overall download speed is down and not for any specific thing just for clarification.

I was just making one more speedtest while I was about to type this post and it almost came to normal for a few seconds. I also tried uploading and it was showing above 40 kbps. But within 30 seconds, it again reduced back to 8 kbps. I think there is some problem with the BSNL line or something but they are not ready to acknowledge that there might be any problem.

My BSNL line is also cutting off regularly in between recently.

My internet is also facing intermittent disconnections since yesterday.

1) Open browser and go to address 192.168.1.1

2) Username = admin, Password = admin

3) The snr Values should be listed in Information page

As I mentioned in the first post, my speed almost came to normal just for around 30 seconds while I was trying a speed test at that time.

The screenshot for that is

So, I am not sure how can there be any problem on my side if it automatically came to normal just for a few seconds. Meanwhile BSNL just informed me that there might be some problem with the telephone line too. I have told them to check it right now although in BSNL, people work as if they are sleeping and have all the time in the world.

The modem is a non-GUI modem and so there is no interface to login

However I use a netgear router model WGR614v9

And I have logged into the neargear router GUI

Where can I find the SNR value there.

It seemed the lazy bones at BSNL did not do anything since afternoon. The person was given complaint number and told to check the telephone line today itself and there is no update till now. The upload speed is still low and I am really getting irritated with these BSNL people. It is more than a week and there is no solution till now.

If there would have been any good high speed broadband in Guwahati, I would have taken it but BSNL is the only reputed broadband provider at this pathetic place. None of the big players even enter this place.

What can I do now? Please suggest as I need my upload speed soon and cannot work with the pathetic support of BSNL.
