Hi,

I use dialler mode. Where should I apply Open DNS ? In LAN properties or BSNL properties ? Please help

I set it in both of them , but i guess its enough to put it in BSNL dialer alone.

Which one can we miss ? When we recommend Open DNS, users may be adding it only in dialler or LAN properties. If we do not confirm which one, they may have it in the wrong one and still face the problem.

If you are using dialer to connect, then you have to enter the DNS in it's properties or it wont work.

(A)In the modem Device Status page
the DNS selected is shown.

If you had selected "obtain automatically"
BSNL DNS will be shown.


(B)If in doubt, which DNS is being used
check ipconfig /all.
Both should tally.

(C)
Also In Network settings
Against DNS .
Select Advanced.
Any number of DNS entries can be entered
as alternate choice. ( under WINS)

Lightbulb DNS Location

Bridge Mode: Dialer Properties
PPPoE Mode: either LAN Properties or in Router Configuration.

LAN properties Address will have priority over Router Configuration.
