Angry Frequent dosconnection - Beetel modem 220BX

    Hello Experts

I have been using BSNL broadband with Beetel 220BX ADSL2 + Modem (AirTel supplied) for the last 9 months and till now everything has been ok. Now in the last few days, i am getting disconnections so much (every 2 to 3 mins and i realize it when i down load something). The power line is modem is not blinking. the yellow line (line connect) goes down completely and with in secs and it comes back up.however i loose the down load which needs browser restart. this has been irritating so much, i thought of switchign immediately to Airtel. Phone line (which is connected to the same line using the splitter) seems to be working fine. Even if the dala line is down in the modem phone line seems to be working. I am not sure whether this issue is inside my home (line, modem, spliter, concealed wiring..etc.,) or out side my home in the BSNL supplied data line (though phone line is working)? How do i debug this and find where the issue is. Can any one plese shed some light on this?

    thanks
    John

As regards to your problem, I am suspecting that there is a problem with the line or splitter (even though you say they are OK). I have had similar experience. I got an inspection done and my outside cable was changed as well as a port change at the exchange. Have been happy since then.

Since you say , internet connection was working for 9 months,
our hands are tied to suggest a quick solution.
    Please open 192.168.1.1 admin password

If you can you can upload the screen shot at TinyPic - Free Image Hosting, Photo Sharing & Video Hosting
and post the link here ( without http and www ).
    or type the details.

    2. Probably we can try a FW update.
With the modem menu page open
    Again type 192.168.1.1/look.html
    ignore the Font.
See the FW version and software version
    post details here.

    3. See Under management

    IP 地址 192.168.1.1
Para three : Power adapter suspect ? voltage problem may be.
    Power line variations.

Test :From the Phone Junction disconnect the ADSL splitter.
    use a two way splitter.
    connect Phone and modem rj11.
When you lift the handset along with dialtone you get "Hiss" noise
    in the background ?
Now reconnect the Adsl splitter. if "Hiss" disappears ADSl splitter is Ok.

Anyway Modem gets connected DIRECTLY to Phone Junction.
ONLY telephone needs splitter. Data freq's to be blocked.
