Thread: Setup of ut300r2 modem with linksys wtr54g wifi router

Hey friends..
i had been working on the utr300u modem. i have seen a lot of threads giving the instruction to make wifi connection with the ut300r2u router. that modem has a fairly simple localhost page and its config is very easy. i had a tough time figuring out the localhost page for my modem but finally succede in setting up of the wifi network at my home all my equip like ipod, ps3, n81 are working great.


so here are the step by step procedure to solve the issue:

1) you don't need to do anything withe the modem as such just remove the Ethernet cable from the modem and insert it into the internet port of the wifi router.
2) from the router 1 lan port connect a cord to the Ethernet port of your pc.
3) go to 192.168.1.1 on your favorite internet browser and you will get the page of the wifi router. enter the password as admin and login as admin
4) there change the connection type to automatic dhcp
5)now click the radio button that says disable dhcp cserver below the same page.
6) now logout of the of the page after saving your setting
7) switch of your modem, wifi router, and your pc. now connect the cord that was originally at the 1st lan port of router to the 2nd plan port of the router and connect the wire tha twas originally there at the internet port of the router to the ist lan port of the router
8 after a minute switch on everything and viola you should have a workin wifi network at your home
