Thread: unable to obtain router setting

i have ut300rtu modem and unable to obtain its setting using 192.168.1.1.

i have set LAN setting to automatically obtain IP address, is it correct to do so.

In utorrent i go to - options- speed guide -and test my port to be forwarded.

I get port forwarded successfully and get utorrent sites to access.

I want to know whether i am using pppoe setting or bridge setting. i want download fast from torrent site. pls help. also explain is our IP address remains changing or it is fixed.

It sometimes happen just set the IP Address in your TCP/IP something 192.168.1.2 to 192.168.1.254.

If you get connected to internet by just switching on your modem then you are using PPPoE mode, and if you are using a dialer to get connected to internet then its Bridge mode.

IP's are Dynamically Assigned, so each time it changes.

Domestic connections use dynamic IP. It changes every time when we switch off and on the modem.
