Thread: How to change BSNL portal id

Hi everyone of BSNL BB,

Now we can change our portal id (14 character) to whatever we wish (if the id is not used already). I have successfully changed my portal id today at data.bsnl.in with my own id ( though not the one I wished).

Anybody tried the option?

What is the misunderstanding here? Earlier there was no option to do that. Now there is an option to do that and it works. Sorry though, as I didn't explain the procedure.

Oh! great you ar spot on.

Since this is a new feature, I would advice extreme caution in using it. Given the style of functioning of BSNL, it is quite possible that the system is still in development stage and things could get messed up easily.

I, too, will advise against changing portal-id. Change the password but leave the id intact - even if the facility is provided.
