    Default A few queries

    1. Does DNS server affect Speed.
(Theoretical ) Lets say the Cap for download is 250 kpbs and am getting 180 on my current DNS. Is there a possibility with changing I may get around 220 at least. ( In my old connection I used to get 250 constant. Now mostly peaks at 200 )

    2. Why do so many of you people who have Home 500 use Auto-Dial up on your modem and then reboot it at 2:00 ? Isn't it easier to set it in Dial-up mode and use a software to connect and Disconnect. ( I used to do this earlier but now after modem change I am a lot confused. Hence my Question:3,4 )

    3. Does Modems used affect Download speed

    4. I have a WA3002G4 modem.
Before anyone flames to use the search button please note that I have tried all the solutions and for some reason I am not able to solve my problem. ( Maybe I am missing something.)

Here is the problem. I have my modem on auto-dialer and I need to configure to Dial-up. I have a lan card on which all the TCP/IP settings have been included. But I dunno the modem configs. I have tried the solutions given here.

I did setup the Modem in bridge mode ( I guess >.>).
Then leavin the lan connection as it is I creating a new connection to connect the net using the pass and username but I couldn't.
So, if anyone is kind I to provide a pic tutorial from start to finish or atleast a detailed tut I will be happy.

Edit : Tried different DNS. But Caps at 210kpbs. Dang!
Edit 2: My Speed spikes before I changed my house. hxxp://i87.photobucket.com/albums/k122/Nashnir/lol.jpg

When you need to use multiple systems with the same connection. You cannot use bridge/dialler mode. Many people use Auto dial as you can simply avoid the process of dialling.

Modem settings do affect the speed.

Well, thanks for the help but I figured it our myself before I read the posts.
Sorry for the trouble and thanks again.

    Here is what I did.

1.Set the Modem in Bridge Mode as given in all the tutorials.
    2. Create new connection->Set user/pass-> In TCP/IP -> Obtain IP address -> Enter the DNS server numbers.
    3. Set IP, same DNS, Subnet mask in the Lan TCP/IP properties.

Dunno why but when I didn't setup DNS in Step 2 and set it to auto get I used to get error the remote comp wasn't responding (Error :678 )

Well, I wrote the steps down as I thought some else may need it :P ( Or maybe they were the standard steps and I was dumb :P )
