Thread: difference btw wifi-modem and wifi-router

explain me about the difference btw wifi-modem and wifi-router,its range,performance,application in pertaining to Bsnl broadband conneaction

A wifi-modem is a modem plus wifi router and is used as a stand-alone unit.
A wifi router is only a router that requires a normal modem in tandem to work with. Naturally wifi-router are cheaper.
If u already have a working modem, u can go for only a wifi-router rather than a wifi-modem.

The wifi device provided by BSNL is a wifi-modem+router.

range,performance etc is almost the same .. although i guess branded modems like netgear , dlink would be a little more better than huawei etc
