    Default Periodical data stoppage

It could be that the previous thread got a bit too long, so I post it here again:

While browsing periodically the data transfer stops: one moment I can browse, the next moment the hour glas spins without an end and nothing else happens..
This is not restricted to one browser, the same happens when I use Internet Explorer, Firefox or Google Chrome.

    Connection mode
I connect by clicking on my connection shortcut, somehow like my old dial-up used to work.

    Modem

In modem and Network settings use enter
    ONLY Opendns 208.67.220.220
    and 208.67.222.222.
    Other DNS select advanced and
    enter in next page.
Post the lease time or check in WAN page .

    - Open DNS are in network settings
    - Other DNS are line 3 and 4 off advanced settings DNS
    - I do not understand what is meant by 'post the lease time'. I have got the connection for 5-6 months now if that's what is meant
    - WAN connection says: 'automatic DNS settings'

    PS: I am using Vista

I am failing to get a result with the lease in it.
What is the exact command line?

    ipconfig /all
    - same as in first post

    ipconfig /all windowsXp Pro sp3
    - list of switches that go with the command, see below

    ipconfig /release
    - "The operation failed as no adapter is in the state permissible for
    this operation."

    ipconfig /release6
    - "An error occurred while releasing interface Loopback Pseudo-Interface 1 : The system cannot find the file specified."

    Code:
    USAGE:
        ipconfig [/allcompartments] [/? | /all |
                                     /renew [adapter] | /release [adapter] |
                                     /renew6 [adapter] | /release6 [adapter] |
                                     /flushdns | /displaydns | /registerdns |
                                     /showclassid adapter |
                                     /setclassid adapter [classid] ]

    where
        adapter Connection name
(wildcard characters * and ? allowed, see examples)

        Options:
           /? Display this help message
           /all Display full configuration information.
/allcompartments Display information for all compartments.
/release Release the IPv4 address for the specified adapter.
/release6 Release the IPv6 address for the specified adapter.
/renew Renew the IPv4 address for the specified adapter.
/renew6 Renew the IPv6 address for the specified adapter.
/flushdns Purges the DNS Resolver cache.
/registerdns Refreshes all DHCP leases and re-registers DNS names
/displaydns Display the contents of the DNS Resolver Cache.
/showclassid Displays all the dhcp class IDs allowed for adapter.
/setclassid Modifies the dhcp class id.

The default is to display only the IP address, subnet mask and
default gateway for each adapter bound to TCP/IP.

For Release and Renew, if no adapter name is specified, then the IP address
leases for all adapters bound to TCP/IP will be released or renewed.

For Setclassid, if no ClassId is specified, then the ClassId is removed.

    Examples:
        > ipconfig ... Show information
        > ipconfig /all ... Show detailed information
        > ipconfig /renew ... renew all adapters
        > ipconfig /renew EL* ... renew any connection that has its
                                             name starting with EL
        > ipconfig /release *Con* ... release all matching connections,
eg. "Local Area Connection 1" or
                                                 "Local Area Connection 2"
        > ipconfig /allcompartments ... Show information about all
                                             compartments
        > ipconfig /allcompartments /all ... Show detailed information about all
                                             compartments

    I think we are miscommunicating.

    My system is Vista
    I have a home 500 plan
    I connect like I did when I had a dial-up = click on a shortcut

These lines do not appear in my ipconfig /all

When I open my "Network and Sharing Center" I see two connections:
    Code:

Name - Status - Device Name - Connectivity - Type
    1. Broadband Connection - Broadband Connection2 - WAN Miniport (PPPOE) - Access to Local and Internet - Broadband
    2. Local Area Connection - Network - Nvidia nforce 10/100 Mbps Ethernet - Access to Local only - LAN or High-Speed Internet
    - In the first connection in properties for TCP/IPv4 all values are automatic
    - In the second connection the values are as in this part of the ipconfig /all result:
    Code:

try this for getting lease time.
I have xpPro sp3. No Vista.
    From Google search :
on a Vista machine, open a command prompt
by typing cmd in the search box,
right click on cmd.exe in the search results
    (start menu) and
    select Run as Administrator.
    Click Continue or type your
    administrator password to continue.

In the cmd window, type ipconfig/release
    and hit enter.
Then type ipconfig/renew and hit enter.

    No luck:

    ipconfig /renew

    - "The operation failed as no adapter is in the state permissible for
    this operation."

    ipconfig /release
    - "The operation failed as no adapter is in the state permissible for
    this operation."

Not sure if it helps, but this is my ipconfig\all when I have disconnected (clicked disconnect in the status window) but the router\modem is still switched on:
