Unhappy Is this really a great modem/router?

I am looking for a wireless modem for my BSNL broadband connection.
I was looking for a better one than what BSNL generally offers UT starcom wireless modem/router.

I found this International brand modem :2Wire 2700HG-B DSL Modem Router Wireless
    Product Details and Features
    This cost around $200 USD.
I managed to get this one for Rs:2000/- INR

Is this modem really a good one?
will this work on BSNL broadband?
    any complications?
    which one do you recommend?

It should work. But BSNL will not support it.

Have a look at other better options also like Netgear, Linksys, Belkin, D-Link.

You can get a wifi device from BSNL for Rs.1600 + tax, which is a lot cheaper than other model. And no worries about service support. The same is available on Rs. 80 pm rent.

Basically it should work, but not sure about its compatibility with BSNL, even i had problems when BSNL gave me ITI-DNA-A211-I Modem, none of the pages used to open then BSNL replaced it with UTStarcom one now i dont have any problems, they said that there is some compatibility issue with the modem and the equipment at exchange.

So always be on safer side.

Might be BSNL engineers where talking about the incompatibility with BSNL Standard protocols.
