VOIP over BSNL broadband -Ports 5060/5061

Hi
Im trying to connect a Voip phone on BSNL broadBand connection.But nothing works(VOIP not working). When i contacted the VOIp service provider they told me that i need to check with my ISP whether they blocking any of the Following ports.

2. When Firewall is enabled on the integrated cable modem cum router, there are 2 options available
as follows:
• Configure “Port Forwarding” for the cable modem with built-in router on Port 5060/5061 and 16384-32767

So i wanted to check with you whether the said ports are open on the BSNL side ( Ports: 5060,5061,16384-32767 ).

1.if they are not opened what might be other options to set-up a voip phone over the BSNL broad Band.
2.what is the above Port forwarding ? what does this do?( im new to this config/etc).

Broadband Modem: siemens C2110 modem( type-A)
Broadband Plan : Rural Home 150
Connection Type for BSNL Braodband: PPPoE.

VOip service provider: Starhub Singapore
Voip modem: Linksys SPA2102-R3 IAD
Voip Connection type: DHCP.

Please help to advise.

My Model is Nokia Siemens netwroks c2110 ADSL modem.

I have selected Connection type DHCp in the VOIP modem settinig

sorry, i think i gave a wrong FAQ. But when i i called the VOIp they told me that i need to check about this ports.

yes..mine is 192.168.0.1 it can be accessed.

No they dodnt provide any installation CD. Actually, i have used the same VOIP modem here in singapore and it worked without any settings. I just connected to my existing ADSL broadband here and i havent even opened the default gateway of the VOIP.

My Dataone modem is set to PPPoE. Always on.

7. Confirm you get connected to Internet with present setttings of
Bsnl Modem.

a) It gets conencted to the internet when i connect my notebook to the ADSL modem directly.
ADSL Ethernet-->PC



b)if i use VOIP modem to browse the internet it doesnt work.i.e. My voip modem has got 1 Ethernet port and 1 Interenet port and 2 Phone lines.so i conencted the ethernet from the ADSL to VOIP Internet slot
and Voip Ethernet to PC.
So i assume that the VOIP is not geting the internet . but could'nt able to track what went wrong.

can you post pictures of your VOIP hardware, both modem and VOIP phone (incl. ports etc)

Check UpNp is enabled.

Give range 192.168.1.2 to say 192.168.1.30

In Computer
Start Network LAN
Properties
select TCp/Ip
properties
Select Obtain IP address automatically.
Apply Save.

Now check c2110/computer ethernet port is working Ok.

Then shift the RJ45 cable to Dlink VOIP unit. (wan/internetport)

13. Update 2000 PM post above please ignore.
If Lan1 Lan2 etc available in c2110
you can connect Lan1 to computer
LAN2 to VOIP unit ( checking up facility will update later )

( except DHCP page ), since you had it working earlier in
Singapore.

C2110 is a type I modem.
It has only one RJ45 port. (one LAN)

The settings on the broadband modem needs to be changed to act as DHCP server. Since your broadband modem has only one ethernet port, once you connect the computer, then remove the lan cable from computer and attach it to your spa2102. The internet connection may not be made to ata.

You need to switch off the broadband modem and spa2102. Connect broadband modem to spa2102. Switch on the broadband modem firstwait for say 30 seconds then switch on the spa2102... Check if you can browse internet using the ethernet port on spa2102. If yes then then your setup is okay.

Since your ATA was working in Singapore.. suggest do not change any settings on the ata as there is nothing wrong with your SPA2102.

and see the model name

The ports you mention all are open to the bsnl side.

Probably @dpbandi has solved the problem.
NO response since 16th Aug 2009.

So this thread can be closed.

The Nokia Siemens Netwroks c2110 have problem with port forwarding. Non of the port are open in this firmware. I advice dpbandi to upgrade with old firmware which is only the name Siemens c2110.

Never had any Port forwarding problems with my Nokia Siemens C2110.

The only grudge is that the Port forwarding menu is hidden. Don't know why ?

In Siemens C2110, Port forwarding menu was not hidden.

In this modem the port forwarding Meneu is hidden but there is no problem in Port forward. The port forward problem start from the model name Nokia Siemens Networks C2110. Every version of this firmware have problem with port forward and DMZ. No port are open if you want to open. This model have UPNP enable. If you cheak the port with utorrent you cant see the problem because the utorrent have upnp enable. To cheak with utorrent you need to uncheak the upnp option or test with PFPortChecker from PortForward.com - Free Help Setting up Your Router or Firewall

I have purchesed Linksys voip 2102 adopter from starhub in singapore. when I check in singapore with my broadband this device woking fine i an call.
But when I bring to India (tamilnadu) I have connected with BSNL 512 SPEED WITH NORMAL MODEM. in spa2102 power led, internet led glowing. but phone led no. but i pickup phone the light blinking. no dial tone.

I have connected like like this:
modem (ethernet)----->(internet)LINKSYS SPA 2102(ethernet)---->my pc
(phone 1)

my phone set
In my pc i can work internet. with default gateway is spa2102 (192.168.0.1)

I spoke to bsnl technical. they said all voip ports are open(udp 5060-5061, 16384 - 32767.

I don't know what i have to do?
Please any one can help me to solve this problem.

Are you using a "Dialer" ( enter USERID and PW in computer dialer window OR
Connect to Internet in "Always On" mode' ( PPP/PPPoE)
( userID/PW entered in WAN page of modem ) ?

Enable DHCP in modem.
give range 192.168.1.2 to say192.168.1.30

Once VOIP is connected, computer need not be on.

Im zubair this message for me. if for me, there is no settinge on linksys sap2102 except LAN & WAN. bcas companey blocks sip settigs on linksys. LAN is 192.168.0.1 (dhcp enabled), wan also dhcp.

Modem just itself having userID, password.

internet working on pc thru linksys.

Do you get any recorded message about service not available /
when you lift the handset ?
I used to get this , in Vonage if Internet connection was not Ok.

I am trying to connect my linksys sp2102 which i had bought from starhub singapore.The device was working fine there. I have a huawei Modem wa1003A provided by BSNL.
MY IDD is not working here. My modem has single ethernet port. I tried to connect the LAN cable to my linksys and then connected the linksys and modem. My pc says network is connected .And also the internet led is ON in my linksys. But i am unable to browse the internet in my pc. I have enabled DHCP .
Kindly help me..

step 1:

ensure you are connected to Internet and can surf after
using ONLY WA1003A in "Always On" ppp/PPPoE mode
( userId PW entered in modem wan page ).
enable DHCP.
