Thread: Huawei Smartax MT800

Few days before my Huawei Smartax MT880 modem stopped to work and one of my friends gave me his spare "Huawei Smartax MT800" modem.
But im not able to use it as i wasnt able to configure it to my username and password.Default gateway is not getting assigned,also im unale to go into moden Admin interface using 192.168.1.1...

Kindly help to how to configure this moden

Start > run > cmd > ipconfig/all, post the screen shot.

Type 192.168.1.1 in the address bar. Enter the user name and password. VCI/VPI 0 -35.

What is the problem? power adapter or modem led lights not coming up ?

If you find a reset button, (with modem power connected)
3. press it for about 20 to 30 seconds. for factory defaults.
Now if you are using a dialer try to connect
entering user Name ID in computer.

4. If any error message report here.

5. Start Network LAN
Properties
network settings
TCP/IP
properties
enter these :
192.168.1.10
255.255.255.0
192.168.1.1
dns
208.67.220.220
208.67.222.222
Apply Save.

6. Now try in IE
enter in address bar 192.168.1.1 admin admin.

Smartax MT880 modem stopped to work?
Power is coming but adsl link lights is not coming up..
it is like the adsl lights turn on for 15 secs and again turn off...
i tried using usb the modem gets detected and after 15 sec it gets undetected..


Configured SmartAX MT800 to PPPoE now its working fine.Thanks
