    Dear all,

I moved to a new house in the same telephone exchange area....

How long will it take to relocate my telephone + Broadband connection to my new house...

Does it have any proceedure...I want to fill up an online application form for doing the same... Is there any such provision...?

It comes under BSNL Bangalore telecom

It will be wise to go in person and give an application. Online applications and BSNL does not go well with each other.

Thats right going in person will be much better and do take an application for the same, time will depend on the line man... how fast he gets the things done. it wont take more than a week.

Since its the same exchange, in all probability its the same lineman who is presently servicing your line who would do the job. So it depends on how friendsly you are with your lineman. It can even be done in 48 hours.

Mine exchange is Kormangala and I've to shift the phone to same locality. I applied online and after three days asked the local exchange guys about the status. They told me I've to apply in written . I've submitted the application to CC, BDA Complex. After three days I called to local exchange and asked for the status. They told they didn't get any order from main office, i.e. Jayanagar. I called the Jayanagar office, they told me to fax the application. I did, they issued the order to local exchange. After that it took week to get the connection.

I suggest you to find out the main exchange and submit the application directly there. No one will care if you apply online (what I experienced). Further get ready to pay some bucks to line men.

I confess this is off topic but PLEASE desist from paying or recommending/suggesting others to pay cash to line men. Paying government officials is a crime and under no circumstances should be encouraged. Of course they will return unhappy and may not smile at you the next time But it can not reflect on their future response to complaints especially in urban areas. Such inane habits should be shelved and that is only possible if customers co-operate.

thats rightly said we should not pay money to lineman to get things done, by doing so we are encouraging them, but sometimes not paying can worsen things they may create further problems resulting you will have to again waste time.

No one want to loose money . JE/JTO issues the order to line man and its up to you how you manage to make your phone work ASAP. If you don't lure them with money, simply wait as they are having ample excuses to tell to JE/JTO why shifting is getting postponed :001_huh:.

Just evaluate the cost (incl. time and energy) of the multiple visits to the exchange you would have to make otherwise and the speed-money you would pay to the lineman.
you can yourself work out the cheaper alternative.

Honesty can only be practised by those who are willing to bear the cost. It is of course always the best policy.
