Default Excess Bill for July

Hi guys,
I am a subscriber of Home 500 Combo Plan since February 2009. Though I have speed problems (My Speed is limited to 1 MBPS or 100 Kbps download speed) and frequent disconnections, I never had problem with excess billing until now. But this month the bill is 903 when my usual bill is 552. My usage is 1554 MB out of which 1536 is free. So the maximum amount for my bill should be 570. Nobody at my home uses the landline for more than 15-20 calls a month and so there is some error by BSNL. What should I do? I did not get the bill in hand so I dont know the details of the error. I just enquired it at a local office. Anybody else face a similar problem this month??

which circle are you from? many circles now provide the facility of getting a duplicate bill online.
Otherwise wait till the bill arrives.

Talk to the accounts section. If it is an error, they can fix it in no time.

I am from Hyderabad..Till last month the bill used to appear online by the 7th of every month but this time they have not uploaded the latest bill yet.

BSNL makes errors many times in billing. Meet the DE of the exchange. You will get the corrected bill.

This happened in my case also a couple of times.

Make a call and ask for the no of accounts section. Talk to the person who handles your bill.

i got my bill finally...in the new bill, there is no mention of the usage in MB..there is no clarity at all...only the amount for broadband is mentioned and free usage (1.5GB) is mentioned in terms of rupees (1228 rupees calculated at 80 paise per MB). I have been charged 1548 rupees but my usage is only 1553 MB out of which 1536 comes under free usage. My bill should be only Rs. 570 but i got bill for Rs. 904. BSNL is getting worse by the day when all other private ISPs are getting better. I am considering shifting to Airtel now.

Now when I want to register a complaint regarding my bill, BSNL is on strike...ahh my luck

I sent an Email to the concerned officer and followed up for 2 weeks (12-14 calls total to 4-5 different numbers) and finally they said that they will reduce the bill by Rs. 319. My corrected bill amount is Rs. 584. Even this amount is Rs. 20 more than it should be but its not worth all the trouble to try to rectify such a small amount.

I just called the automatic bill enquiry system and they told me that the bill amount for August was 3264 rupees and it did not include fixed monthly charges and discounts....this is really too much.....wonder what BSNL is upto these days.....at this rate, my next month bill might become 30000......i am really considering changing ISPs....

just give a visit to your concerned Accounts Officer with the bill and just clarify all doubts and if mistakes are there then for sure they will rectify.

This is not a private ISP that from the comfort of your house you can get each and everything solved, for each silly thing you will have to visit them and get things sorted out.

I did not get a bill for August yet....my friends got bills for September too and I am still waiting for August bill....and the automatic bill enquiry system has added to my tension

You mean 1mbps or 100 kBps....am I right?
but 1mbps is equal to 128 kBps....

Yes you are correct. 1 mbps means 128 kBps. That is the theoretical speed limit. It can be reached only if all the wires and connections are perfect. This is not the case. The actual speeds I get are upto 100 kBps. If I upgrade my PC with latest configuration, replace all existing wires with new wires, I may get upto 115 kBps. But 128 kBps is just theoretical and cannot be obtained.
