Rep Power: 0 | Hi all, I have a home network with 2 computers. I get my internet connection(256 kbps unlimited pan )using a UTStarcom TYPE 4 dsl router from bsnl. I connected both systems to the router. In one system i get 100 mbps connection and the net speed is good(around 25-30 kbps). But in the second one i am getting only 10 mbps lan speed and net speed is very low(around 2 to 3 kbps). I have a realtech gigabit on board NIC in my 2nd system. My mother board is asus p5kpl am/ps.The first system is connected using a 3 meter cable and 2nd one using a 17 meter cable. I tried solving the issue by all methods i know like changing the NIC config parameters to override the autonegotiation to 100 mbps full duplex etc but still the problem persists. I am experiencing a heavy drop in internet speed in 2nd system due to this problem. I had a notion like "my net connection is only 256 kbps so 10mbps would be good.". But the problem is that both lan speed and net speed is very low. What can be the problem? Please give me a solution. |

Rep Power: 12 | the onboard NIC is realtek . go the company's web site and select the upgraded version for your OS. mention the card details here. Or you can use the option . Compatible mode with XP or win98 etc. Since the card is working at 10 Mbps only driver/s change may help. Completely uninstall the drivers. then try again. |

Rep Power: 2 | If the router is connected to computer through LAN card you get 100 mbps speed. But if you connect router to computer through USB you get 10mbps or 12 mbps speed. This speed is between your Computer and router and not between your router and isp server ( or internet ). |
