Default Download possible, not the browsing

    Dear all,
Recently i have taken a new bsnl broadband connection. My modem is WA3002G4.

Since first day i am getting one strange problem. Before wrting here, I have gone through old threads but couldn't find the similar problem, so writing here.

Actually what is happening that after 2-3 minutes of browsing when i try to open a new link, the message comes "Cannot find server". On the other hand if in backgound any download is continuing, it continues as normal, but web pages are not opening. I have to refresh many times to open the link or disconnect and connect the link.

In addition to this, when i am trying to open the modem configuration through 192.168.1.1, same thing is happening after 2-3 stages.

I checked the connection by pinging some websites through command prompt, reply is coming.

ipconfig/all info is attached for reference.
Plz help me to solve the problem

    instead of using automatic ip...
goto network settings.. select connection and change your ip4 confoguration to

    IPv4 IP Address: 192.168.1.5
    IPv4 Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0
    IPv4 Default Gateway: 192.168.1.1
    IPv4 DNS Servers: 218.248.255.212
    218.248.255.139

and check in your browser that no proxy is set for lan connection..

if you are downloading any file, the download manager consumes all the bandwidth and there is not enough bandwidth available for you to browse. What you mentioned is normal i.e. unable to browse when downloading. only if you are unable to browse when not downloading, then there might be some problem.

    @aos1
1.Please avoid using large BMP annexures. try to use JPG.

    2. Try to change Mod to GMT. probably it is adsl2 + now.

    3. UseOpendns 208.67.222 and 208.67.220.220

    4. TRY to keep resident applications, appearing in Taskbar to minimum.

Thanks to all for prompt reply.

I am trying the solutions given by ashashash and essbebe, and will update the situation.

By the way this problem is happening even if there is no download going on.

As an example what is happening that after composing any mail (or this message also) when i click send/post message, page opens with cannot find server. Then i have to refresh it many many times or disconnect and connect again to browse further. Not only this, it is happening with normal browsing also.

I tried all the things but to no use. Problem is not solved.

But the good news is that this problem is not only with my system, one of my friend is also facing the same problem in the same building.

we have called the concerned people about this. They will come and check.

    Thanx all for suggestions.

I will update here about the solution.

    Problem is solved

Used RRT sergiwa toolkit to remove some malwares. Loaded zone alarm and Avira ativirus. earlier i was using windows firewll and avg antivirus.

All these things solved the problem. But dont know the exact reason out of above which solved my problem.

This problem is very common as i found on net by searching the key word "Browsing stops" in google.

    Thanks all for suggestions
