    Default BroadBand with Ubuntu 9.4

    Hi Guys,
    Mind is UT300R2U, home combo 500 C plan. I just switch on my modem to connect to the internet. I dont do any dial to connect to internet. So i think min is PPPOE. I am going to install ubuntu 9.4. Should i do any changes to connect internet in Ubuntu. if yes, and again in xp to connect internet,should i do any changes? Reply me.

    I found one similar link to wiki, but it was broken

    Hi, it is not required. If it is PPPOE, Ubuntu automatically configures everything.

    Steps to configure modem in Linux Desktop
    Configure IP Address in the Linux Desktop
    Open a new terminal in your Linux Desktop.
    Type the following commands in the linux prompt
    ifconfig eth0 192.168.1.2 netmask 255.255.255.0 up
    route add default gw 192.168.1.1 eth0
    From BsnL application. self not using Linux, or familiar with the OS.
    After above commands settings for all modems same as for Windows OS.

    it should work plug n play.. if you have issues , mention if you can access http://192.168.1.1 and also post output of ifconfig from the terminal of ubuntu
