    Default Some assisstance required.

I own an MT 841 modem, and my plan 2mbps at 500 per month. Over the last 3 days I'm unable to display any internet page.

    My modem status :

ADSL link green (not yellow) and yet stable.

A call to 1504 yielded in a stable yellow light after creating a PPPoE connection with username and password. And yet the internet did not work. I was then guided to Address Pool in the DHCP and instructed to change values and many other steps which did not solve my problem. I chanced upon the Diagnostics and when tested my active PVC, I was given this.

    Modem Connection Test
    Testing Ethernet connection

    PASS
    Testing ADSL line for sync

    PASS
    Testing Ethernet connection to ATM

    PASS
    ATM Connection Test
    Testing ATM OAM segment ping

    FAIL
Testing_ATM OAM end to end ping

    FAIL

    ISP Connection Test
    Testing PPP server connectivity

    PASS
    Testing PPP server session

    PASS
    Testing authentication with server

    PASS
    Validating assigned IP address

    PASS
    Internet Connection Test
    Ping default gateway

    PASS
    Ping Primary Domain Name Server

    PASS

When I notified the helpline about this issue, they sounded lost and were unhelpful. Perhaps somebody here can help me, this problem is killing my productivity. I would be glad for assistance of any kind. Thanks in advance.

Various combinations were given to me by the help line, I tried theirs and yours. but no avail.

There were some of the first sites I checked, and the same steps were provided by bsnl, but they didn't work for me. I came across somone with a similar problem here.

To get TCP MSS Option, type 192.168.1.1 in your browser. Internet setting.

May be at advance > Nat settings.

Nope, NAT didn't have anything to do with TCP MSS, but all my NAT entries are disabled. Could that be the problem?

    MTU/MSS/TTL etc are inter related.
Usually 1492 is the default MTU setting.
You can try TCP/IP optimizer from speed guide.net
    and follow the recommendations.

Many Old modems do not have menu option to change MTU.

Para two : Summary of your Modem:
After you have entered all settings correctly
and rebooted the modem ( wait 2 or 3 minutes )
do you get Green Button against
Line 0_35 Bridged or PPPoE connection /
Do you get a "NOTE" icon also ?
If seen click it and again modem will restart.

    Post these data :
    Start RUN type cmd OK
    New window
    type ipconfig /all

My routers TCP MMS & TCP MTU values are on interface setup page. The default values are 0 (zero). I never changed those values. The router is working fine. No problem at all.

Please see link ( below) for WA3002-G4 for menu settings.
Hardware board is similar to DNA A211 -I
To set up wifi network with MAC OS ( I am on XP PRO SP3)
Check menu item for equivalent of Control Panel ( as in XP etc ).
    feedback.
