Default BSNL Usage Issue-Billed for Free period Usage

    Hi Friends,
I Have a 500C+ Home plan. On 17th August I was facing problems with the connection and got connected after many attempts. I had set up scheduler to download after 2:05AM (i.e 18th August). Working late into the night while being online , I fell asleep at about three and the downloads had begun at 2:05 as set by the scheduler. I had download over 2Gb of stuff during the night till morning about 5:00AM . Today when I was doing a routine check on data.bsnl i observed that for that particular day I have been metered for the 2 GB of usage.

I have screenshots and download records of download begin times from my download manager to attest my claim.

Please advise how I should proceed. I am from Bangalore.

Talk to the Senior Divisional Engineer (SDE) and report your problem. If it doesn't work, you may also send your written complaint to the Nodal officer and Appellate authority. You will find their address and phone no on the backside of your bill. For SDE's no talk to the customer care/ local exchange.

Nothing new with BSNL. They do such mistakes frequently.

    MTNL is doing better.

Have you mailed your complaint to BSNL Customer Care?

Why are the row 6 and 10 charged 0?

    Unlimited plan will be better..

    @jagzviruz

1.Delete the screen shot containing your
account number and User ID or blank it
Please reduce the size of the JPG picture/s
    in future. .
Not all members have free downloads!
    Attachment 5740

    2.
You have downloaded during the concerned period.
    mixing 09-to 02 block and 02 to 05 block.
Calculating Average download .A.O may allow
free usage for the period 02- to 05AM

    3.
IF already done. Ignore . Recheck settings.
In future switch of MODEM around 0155 Am and again at 0755 AM.
Or use Imrans's Broadband utility to schedule downloads..
    4.
    Ignore if already done.
Take screen shot of the Download Manager
showing the downloads during this period.

Also screen shot of the History page for same date.
You may use them to convince, that
did not download during 09PM to 02 AM block.

    5.
Usually Bsnl Meter splits into block of 30 minutes
    duration, during change over period.

    6. You can send the link to the screens shots .
    ( upload them at tinypic.com )
    and send ONLINE complaint
    Only 200 characters allowed.
    Note the Online complaint number.

    @neer001
MTNL has WARNED/advised in its website .
NU free d/l users to switch off modem around
12midnight ( MTNL NU time ) and restart for heavy downloads.

The start and end time must be between 2.00 am and 8.00 am. Otherwise you will be charged. You can automate this process. Try this

    http://imran-utilities.synthasite.com/

This software can automatically reboot your modem at a little after 2.00 am and a little before 8.00 am.

is your connection with 59 series IP or 117 IP?
normally at present at least for 117 IP BSNL breaks the session at change-over period using a 30 minute block. not sure for 59 IP.

Please contact the Accounts Officer at the exchange on receipt of the bill.
