Hi All,

I am having BSNL DSL Modem (UT-300R2) and also, I bought a new Netgear WiFi router (WGR614v9) for my laptop.

Yesterday, I tried to configure both, but unfortunately i am unable to configure correctly and even worse, my BSNL broadband is also not working. The internet light is OFF permanently.

I tried with the resource CD provided by netgear, but in vain.

Right now, I need to rectify the BSNL modem first. Please help me to resolve the problem.

Start > run > cmd > ipconfig/all, Please post the screen shot.

See this link and follow the instructions. after getting modem working.

Now reset your modem Ut300R2 withpower on for 20 to 30 seconds.
Modem settings revert to factory settings.
If you are using a dialer try to connect.
If still "NoGo"
open modem settings and in WAN page edit and select "Bridged "
for VPI/VCI 0 and 35
Save reboot wait for two minutes.
If still problem
Give data asked in above post.

Please try to set the adsl modem settings first.
The guide by @just4Kix , contains plently of screen shots
with clear instructions.
Follow it and then try to connect to internet.
Hint : Enable DHCP in modem VPI/VCI 0 and 35
If you are on "DIALER" mode select "Bridged" in WAn page
If "You select "Always On" In WAN page PPP/PPPoE mode
enter user id without @ bsnl.in

I have one doubt, without internet connection, is it possible to open the link h t t p://192.168.1.1

I tried this link when the internet connection was working. It just displayed the device info like (actual menu items might be different)

see the list in this picture.
Press the reset switch for 20 to 30 sec with power on .
WE program the modem without Internet connection
to get connected !
Click the Menu choice for more options like wan lan etc .
feedback.

Hi

Finally, I am able to connect to internet using BSNL ADSL modem. Thanks for your suggestions.

Next, I tried configuring Netgear wifi router with BSNL modem, but when I access URL h t t p://192.168.1.1, it opens the BSNL DSL router site, instead of netgear settings site.

One thing, I am able to connect to internet using WiFi network. But, i am unable to connect to internet thru LAN via Netgear WiFi router.

Any suggestions,

post output of ipconfig from the command prompt when connected via wireless and LAN

You have to enable DHCP in modem Ut300r2 and give range say 192.168.1.3 to 192.168.1.10

Then in desktop laptop etc
Network/Lan or wireless LAN
properties
TCP/Ip
properties
select
Obtain IP address automatically.
Apply .Save.

Netgear a new IP address.
192.168.2.1 enter it

For LAn problem
Start All programs/Accessories / Communications
Network set up wizard.
follow the instructions.
Then a LAN network will appear.
Now check and
give feedback.

Please explain procedure for alloting
new Ip address to netgear wgr614V9.
User can now access Internet in WIFI mode.
Unable to access settings page of Netgear.wgr614.
