Lightbulb Troubleshooting method in PPPOE world !

When we are using bridge mode for connecting to net, the error codes are visible in the case of any problems and that would help in pinpointing and taking corrective actions. :thumbup1:

But what's the case with PPPOE-based connections ?

How can we troubleshoot the problems since the modems dials by itself during booting ? The only visible signs are the lights in the modem.

Even if we login to the modem, there is not too much of options inside, especially for troubleshooting...

There are log options in the router. Turn then on. These should be available in "Status" menu.

Also there is a diagnotics option.

    Which is your modem ?

Currently I'm using a Nokia Siemens C2110 modem, it's not having any sort of diagnostics options like yours.

Any other methods other than that you've mentioned ?

    My modem is UT300-R2U.

All modems have a diagnostics option (usually). Check all menus.

    Any other external softwares ?

In the olden days, there were lots of modem diagnostics softwares meant for dialup modems...That why.

    or
    192.168.1.1/secur_menu.html

    check in admin menu.

    Or

    after opening the modem
    type in address bar 192.168.1.1/diag.html
