Default Huawei SmartAX MT841 Wireless setup

I am using Huawei SmartAX MT841 modem/router. Currently I using the cable to connect the router to my PC. I want to setup the MT841 router for wireless so that I can use the internet on my phone. I followed the following instruction but the WLAN light in the modem is off.

In the right side of the router I see a slot kind thing. Is this slot for a Wireless card. I am not sure whether the router (Huawei SmartAX MT841) requires a Wireless card. Kindly provide your inputs on this.

Or better get WA3002-G4 or DNA A211_-I from Bsnl
for Rs 1600/=+ taxes or on rent Rs 50/= PM
    ( three in one ADSL modem+ 4 lan port + wifi )

Futile exercise trying to get Wireless LAN card to be
    inserted in MT841.
May be available In "Junk" in Bsnl stores in small towns!
    WLAN Card WCBG03H
    one available..
an offer to buy MT841 without wifi card also there.
    in similar forum.
    Para two:
NetgearWGR614 v6 ( or above )Wifi router with 4 lan ports available in "Mercy Electronics" in your locality for around Rs 1500 to Rs 2000/=
MRP will be different. Guarantee for One year given by Netgear.

Or if You need greater reach/Range go for Dual Antenna 2N wifi routers.
    Buffalo models. .

    Hint for WIFI range :
If the antenna is detachable insert a cd not usable(with bright side up preferably)
and reconnect the antenna. Check improvement if any .

The modem MT841 with wireless card is type IV and without card is Type III.

My friend had one without the card and went to enquire about if the card can be bought separately.BSNL guys said they no more sell MT841 and does not know about wireless card.

I spoke to the BSNL guy, he told that if you want to go for a wireless one then buy a new modem from us.I replied "No thanks! ".

I have decide to buy a Netgear WGR614 Wireless Router. I will buy it EOD today. It there any settings (192.168.1.1) required in Netgear router like we have MT 841 router for accessing internet.

while searching in Google for Netgear WGR614, I found Netgear WGR614 V9.
Is there any version for Netgear WGR614 Wireless Router?

The reason behind going for a wireless router is that I want to use internet on my phone (N79) apart from my PC & most probably I will be purchasing a laptop very soon. I have been using Bridge mode all these year, never ever tried the PPPoE mode.

Since I will be using more than 1 device for internet, I think I need to go for the PPPoE mode. The only thing worrying me is about the port forwarding. I do torrent downloading a lot. So uTorrent need to be fort forwarding.

Just want to know whether there are any chances of not getting the expected speed even after port forwarding.

Another question I have is that apart from uTorrent what other application required port forwarding?

I have purchased the NETGEAR WGR614 ASDL Wireless Router. I am having problem in setting the router.

I connected the power, then the LAN, there's one Ethernet port. I connected the cable from the splitter to this Ethernet port. Now when I switch on the power, the power & the LAN light in the router are glowing but the Internet light is not glowing.

    Its working now.
