In type II you will get a router with wireless option too, you can access internet without using the wires that is RJ45 Cables.

Type I will cost you Rs. 1000/ - + Tax (outright purchase)
If rented will cost you Rs. 50/- monthly.

Type II will cost you Rs. 1600/- + Tax (outright purchase)
If rented will cost you Rs. 80/- monthly.

On your desktop you will have to use the wired option untill you purchase one Wireless Dongle.

If you have laptop then you can use internet on the move inside your house.

Type 2 modem will allow you to use wifi. Normally laptops have inbuilt wifi. You can use normal LAN port instead of wifi for your desktop. Type to is nothing but an extra facility for wireless connection. You can use it just like type 1 modem if you wish. The only hiccup is that it will cost you Rs. 600 more.

It will have both option. You can either connect using wifi or through LAN. For using wifi, you need a wireless dongle in your computer.
