    Question configuring the huawei wa1003a

    Hi ,
I am a bsnl dataone user .I was using the smart 882 modem but it was knocked out by lightning so the guys at BSNL changed it to the huawei wa1003a.
    while going to the http://192.168.1.1/
    1. Can i simultanously use any two types of connection on the huawei wa1003a eg Wifi and USb .Ie connecting to two computers simultanously .
    2.on
3.Do I keep the Enable setting Firewall and NAT Service in the setup mode http://192.168.1.1/
4.what are these in modem setup
    MMODE
    T1413
    GDMT
    GLITE
    ADSL2
    ADSL2Plus
    MMODE(except T1.413)
By default it is MMODE(except T1.413) which is the best mode
    5. In the wireless setup there is a option of channel ranging from 1 to 13 what is it .

Can anybody help with my queries.
    regards ,
    Somak

    1. if wa1003a has a LAN then better to use LAN & WiFi
    2. I could not get it . see procedure :
    DataOne User Manual
    3. you can enable firewall . NAT is not required .
    4. G.Dmt or ADSL2 plus or ADSL . it makes no difference

    Hi..

I could help to some extend if u could answer the questions:

    1. Do u really need both USB and WiFi?.

    2. Can u spare for NICs..?. Because connecting and sharing WA1003A or any other CPE thro' network card is problem free..

    3. I don't think that u can configure the CPE to use simultaneously LAN/USB and WiFi. But I'm not very sure.

If u want to use LAN i have solution to share it to any number of computers.

    Thanks and regards..

    Default Multiple connections

Theoritically you can connect upto 53 computers using a switch or a hub and the speed will not vary much ,and this is the best part of Dataone.
usually i provide upto 2 or 3 computers ,mainly a Desktop, a laptop and a VIOP while configuring a modem in PPPOE mode.

wireless users take care that your Wifi signal has been encrypted in WEP as its more secure and will avoid others using your broadband amounting to huge bills .

I can tell this openly as most of the persons who do the Client Premisis Extension work of Dataone are not much aware or concerned of this feature
