    Default intermittent connection

mine is home bsnl 125 dataone plan. i am experiencing interruption for the last two months. earlier i used to get it correct. every now and then the connection is gone. the dsl light is on always. but the status indicator on the modem goes. the first three lights are on but the status indicator goes and the taskbar computer icon goes black. (when connection reestablished it is glown) within a few seconds it is available. but due to this interruption i am not able to download from sites like rapidshare which does not allow resume capability. i can download small files. but when the question of downloading bigger files it is failed.the details are as following:-

    modem UTstarcom
    modem model WA 3002 G4
    mode-G.DMT
    status-No defect
    type-interleave
    Line config_trellis on
    snr margin-11.9, 26.0
    attenuation -63.5 31.5

in the bandwidth meter --it is shown-
bandwidth -670.39 kbps( i used to 1.54 mbps earlier in march 2009)
    download rate-64.kBps
    kindly comment on snr rate.thanks

1.Your line condition attenuation is very high/ worst.
Means too many joints en route to your location.
Could be more than 6 KM from Exchange. confirm.

    2. Complain to BSNL tech staff Your Exchange.

    3.Inspect cables/joints for corrosion/balckening/oxidization/ High resistance
    contacts etc.

4.ensure ALL phone connected after ADSL splitter In Phone port.

    5. If Phone is noise free without crackling sound etc .
line man will say their line is fine
    Approach your J.T.O.

Your attenuation values are very high. Lodge a complaint at your local exchange.

I feel it is beyond our scope now.
see item No 2 post 2 or post 3.

Check your set up is as given below.

    Attachment 5848

    Use short cables.
Remove additional telephones one by one
    and recheck SNR/Attn.

SNR should Increase .( above say 15 db )
Attn should decrease ( say around less than 30 db)
